I'll be glad when he's gone at the end of the season, never before has such an average baller been championed so much by some fans, if I never hear 'dance paddy dance' again I'll be a happy man. His only good moment was taking a few players on and scoring, the rest off the time he's been an average slightly pi$sed up baller.

No doubt you'll be loving the pub league stuff next season then. Work their socks off.

    Another idiotic reply on here.

Amongst certain fans there seems to be a belief that if you don't rate McCourt you somehow like watching long ball & poor football. What a load of ********. Of course we like good football we just don't rate McCourt.

Maybe if he could perform for more than 45 minutes in a game, make decent runs off the ball, could perform in more than 1 every 5 games, had a decent shot on him or took up decent positions instead of coming deep for the ball every time I might rate him.

Today again he came on and did nothing. How many games is that now he's done nothing?

Hoof. Chase. Run run run. Chase foul. Run run run.

The typical tactical mindset of some folks on here.

I really like skillful players and i love to see great goals, but Paddy has had plenty of chances this seasonto prove he should be in the side regularly and he does not ever do it. He is frustrating to watch because we know he has the skill, but he lets himself down by his attitude.
It seems that if you dare to say anything against him it means you hate skill and want cloggers, I fail to see why the skillful players cant put the effort in like the so called cloggers, they would be bloody fantastic !!
I think Paddy should be fantastic coming on against tired players, he has more time to do his magic, that is how I would play him at the moment.
I realise that someone will say something like " well what about Mellis or Nick the Kraut "or any other one they want to pick out, but this thread is about Paddy and not them, I would give similar arguments why they should not play as well though.

I share your views on Paddy. It's weird how whenever you criticise him you get told you want a team full of Dawson's or you'll like league one football. What bizarre comments. There's lots of attacking players I've criticised this season, (Mellis, Cwyka etc) but I don't get told I want a team full of Dawson's when I criticise the others.

Paddy wouldn't make much difference, and that's coming from me, a big fan of his.

We just don't have the necessary quality in this squad I'm afraid.

Some good players, on their day. Unfortunately, they're equally poor on more days.

Inconsistency has killed us this season.

I'm a Paddy lover. And torn wether his inclusion on a regular basis(not a chance fitness wise as his career proves) would have made an jot of difference?!? Maybe, maybe not. Suppose we'll never know which I personally think is a shame.

I'll hold my hands up aswell, my Paddy liking is partially his undoubted ability. Not much, if any work ethic I'll agree.
But I've always liked a rebel type sportsman, either football wise or otherwise. Ronnie OSullivan, Jimmy White, Phil Tufnell, Gazza etc etc. a break from the normal if ya like.

Just wanted Paddy to be a success! Ah well, ni mind.

If you add up all the game time Paddy's had the calendar year, I doubt it'd add up to much more than a match & a half. He's only started one game, against the runaway league winners and was then substituted at half time when we were only 1-0 down. Yet every time we lose, he always seems to come in for criticism. Even if we win & he hasn't played, rather than simply enjoying the victory, some can't help but make sneering, snidey comments about him.
Paddy's a throwback to a time in football when skill was appreciated more than athleticism and I, for one, appreciate that skill.
JLWBigLil is a footballing dinosaur and proud of it. Love Barnsley, hate football.:D

I agree, but I can see why he is not starting matches. I love to see skill, but skill without effort equals a wasted career and I fear that Paddy is going that way.

My favourite players from my life watching football, include Matt Le Tissier, Gazza, Hoddle, Rodney Marsh and Stan Bowles. All of these fantastically talented and skillful, yet all of them worked hard for the team too. Yet all of them were deemed as luxury players by some managers, especially International managers!

With the greatest of respect, Mark, that is utter garbage! Of the players you've just mentioned, only Gazza could argue that he also worked hard for the team.

Le Tissier worked hard mate, Ok Bowles and Marsh could be Lazy at times, but they worked when they had to.
I would have Paddy in my side every week , but I see why he is not a regular .I also think he can work hard , but he seems to not want to, I have seen him chase back and tackle, just not enough for the manager !
