What's the official line from The Trust on Maurice/Barry Gally? And can we stop saying 'gave' us £70 million. No owner has ever given a club £70 million. They've loaned it - hence Bolton's current £145 million debt, Chelsea's etc.
There isn't an official line. Im sure it will be discussed at the next meeting. As for the your second point, I'd say that isn't strictly true. Most owners loan the money they put into clubs for accounting reasons but these loans are often written off. Patrick has written off millions of pounds of such loans. Has he not given these millions to Barnsley FC?
Coming from the man who said we would need to average 13,000 in League One to have a bottom eight budget. I actually have no recollection whatsoever of starting this thread which just goes to show I really shouldn't drink and post.
Ten pints and the BBS really don't mix. I'm out all day today so owt could happen later. I really wish I could change the title of this thread.
I don't mind the content of the thread generally. I'm not too keen on Mr Taylor but the thread title is a bit juvenile. Well, more than a bit.
I'm not sure about the accuracy of the word 'most'. Particularly with the new breed. Undoubtedly, Patrick Cryne has done that. And in the past, directors at many clubs would write off a bit of money each season to keep the accounts in the black. The sums being much smaller than they are now. But people who take over clubs these days don't tend to have any prior affiliation with the club they buy. It's a business opportunity not a labour of love. I'd say the likes of Patrcik Cryne are now very much in the minority.
But doesn't PC want £6million should BFC ever get promoted to the Prem under new ownership ? Not criticising him for that, just saying. Plus there's a share of any profit from the development of OCA assets I would imagine.
When is this next meeting? Will full minutes be published, so everyone can get visibility of what has been discussed? I don't remember seeing the notes from the last meeting.
I've no idea. I know it has been mentioned in reports that we are due to be taken over but none of them have actually materialised so could also be ******. I suppose if i was selling the club after putting £15m+ into it for and was receiving substatially less than that I'd want a million to one clause in it as well just to make me feel a bit better. As for OCA profits, even if there are any the will be vastle offset by his losses against the club itself.
Depends if the new owners move us or not.... All speculation anyroad up innit ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
But isn't that the problem Gally? Barnsley fans don't know what his role is or his mandate. Surely if you invest in a season ticket which is like a limited share in BFC for a season we have a right o know what a board members existence is for and nobody knows whats Barry's role other than his involvement at F A level which doesn't tally with BFC supporters views.a bit weird imo
