If it happens we will finally get to know if we did have a sell on clause. ...

Conflicting reports depending on who you listen to. Hence why I said we would finally find out. And even on here

    No sell on clause.

Interview with Don Rowing when he left said 3 million up front with no clause.

I'm pretty sure that's not right, we only got £1.5m up front I thought, with the rest in instalments? No idea if we have sell on clause but we flipping better have.

Unless the sell on clause, assuming there is one, is substantial then we have been well and truly mugged off.

Not just a sell on clause but an appearance clause and internationals clause. We'll be raking it in

Yeah if it's 25% and he leaves Everton for 20 million it will be about right.

Looking at how Everton are doing this season his best move could be to stay where he is. They are looking good for a Champions League spot next season and Martinez is doing a good job bringing him on. Wouldn't surprise me to see them as genuine title challengers within the next couple of years and Stones could be a big part of it.

Better to be a major part of something at Everton than a bit part player at Chelsea or Arsenal and if he continues to improve like he has been, his next move could be to one of the European big boys...

He also said RNL was ready for a run of 30 first team games. He could make his mouth say owt. Some of it even made sense on rare occasions.

he talked waffle, loads and loads of it. I couldn't stand the bloke because he used to answer a question in 1000 words when 1 or 2 would do and i found it really annoying.

But Not sure he told lies though.

Agreed, it would be suicidal for his career to go to one of the really big clubs at this stage in his career. He's developing really well at Everton and has been given a chance by Martinez to prove himself.

As you say, going to the likes if Chelsea may only see him get used in carling cup games, and although he'll be raking it in, he'll not be progressing his career.

Correct Mr N Mare........... and I don't blame him......take the coin while it's on offer as no one plays forever/might get injured blah blah blah. Better than worrying about £1.50 postage costs on ure (not yours personally Mr N Mare) season ticket!!!

Not necessarily. It's certainly about money for some folk but bear in mind that his next contract, regardless of club will probably secure him financially for life. He's in a very strong position and would be best advised to stay where he's going to play the most football and improve. Admittedly, I said the same when he was with us but I didn't predict the extent at which he would improve or that he would feature in the first team at Everton so prominently. The way he's going he'd probably be a regular at Chelsea or Arsenal but I wouldn't run the risk of ending up like Sinclair, Adam Johnson, Rodwell etc etc and rot in the reserves at a crucial time of his career.

It may be a big motivating factor for footballers but it is not a valid reason for premier league players, not when many of them are millionaires, financially secure and will never have to work again after a few years.

and he could get injured at any time ending his career

If he gets a top dollar move that secures his future then he should take it. Life has a nasty habit of destroying peoples dreams.
