Chris Dagnall is an experienced pro who had tried and clearly failed at Championship level. Whilst I have never doubted his commitment or effort his ability is a different matter. Do you think it's acceptable for a striker to score 6 league goals in 18 months as Dagnall? We have a proper grown up manager he Sussed Dagnall as not being good enough immediately. Where we are in agreement is that we didn't need to sign a less good COG we needed to sign a forward with movement and pace and we failed.

I got lambasted for saying COG is rubbish and i stand by that. better than dagnall I agree. but hes scored 10 league goals this season. Dont tell me its NOT acceptable for a player to only score 6 goals , but it is acceptable for a player to score 10. COG hardley wins any headers, spends most his time outside the box and constantly gives the ball away or concedes pointless fouls. Maybe DW did see dagnal wasn't the best, but he replaced him with far worse. He needed a dagnall but 2-3 yards faster.. If he couldn't find that he should have stuck with what he had

I thought COG had scored 13 goals this season or are we taking goals off him for having a funny forehead? In those 18 months COG had actually scored 19 league goals or 3 times as many as Dagnall in actuality.

I think Danny believed in Pedersen we had a better version of Dagnall but didn't bank on him being made of glass. In open play Dagnall scored 4 goals in 18 months as a forward for us. Not good enough. GOG will get a gig at another Championship club. I'm not saying he's Lionel Messi but he's certainly good enough for us. I am unaware of any Championship clubs knocking on Dagnall's door when we freed him but I could be wrong. I don't rate Proschwitz myself but he's certainly better at scoring goals than Dagnall will ever be.

Maybe, but not for us. He doesn't contribute anything.

like i said earlier its not just about scoring goals. How many Goals did we score with Dagnall on the field due to his movement and hard work. Theres Plenty of strikers even in the prem who hardly score but get games every week. You cant ignore the importance of making runs off the ball and creating space for other players. Our movement up front at moment is non existent

Dont get me worng I dont think Dagnall is a world beater and im not surprised other champ teams didn't sign him. But its a fact that he was at BFC, he was hardly ever injured, he was the type of player we needed, just a bit faster. He may have only scored 5 goals last season , but they were damn important ones and it was as many as Proswich and pederson have managed between them.

Pederson was Injured when Danny arrived and im sure he just didnt fancy the championship, he was weak as piss when fit. Danny should have watched DVD's of him and sent him packing on that evidence.

You cant tell me we would have been any worse had we kept him, and that's my point

Aye we should never have let Andy Payton go either.. . This season Dagnall scored 1 goal for us so let's compare his efforts this season. His goal netted us zero points not particularly important I'm sure up you'll agree.

To be honest we aren't a million miles away from agreeing. We need a player up front with speed of thought and movement to play off of GOG there's no disagreement from me on that one. Is Dagnall the answer obviously not. Was it right to get shut I'd say yes along with all the other failed Hillcroft experiments. When Flitcroft was picking Dagnall earlier in the season we were bottom or maybe I missed the period where his movement and skill propelled us up the table. In terms of being worse it's like comparing **** with ***** isn't it?

The main reason we're going down is because we've made too many bad signings. Proschwitz, Pederson, Hunt, Woods, Nayatanga, Frimpong and then the ones who took too long getting up to speed like Jennings and Lawrence. The fact that Tom Kennedy's played virtually all season say's it all really.
