..................and then just left us there on the bank side........to be forever grateful while we lay there to catch our breath

Other than saving us, which we will be forever thankful for, there has been no progress....NONE.........compare this with the John Dennis years

For example..........the stadium and training facilities before and after the Chairmanship of John Dennis

Yeah we should be thankful for him saving us but we've not progressed under him and he's done well out of buying us as we don't own as much as we used to thanks to him and the council.

    Utter ******.

Who do you think has made up the financial shortfalls since he took over? He's also had a bit more than Barnsley FC to worry about in the last few years.

    It doesn't sound very thankful.

FFS Dreamboy..............everybody knows he has put £££millions into the club

But that's not the point I'm making here..........the point is this; no matter how much PC has put in, it has never been enough to move us forward, or to even start us moving forward

    (1) he saved us after many 'dodgy' attempts
    (2) he has seen us right despite year on year losses
    (3) he's openly said if anyone came in investment wise he'd sell to the right person and only want his brass back if we got into the Prem
    (4) his health has deteriorated due to the 2-3 year long legal battle

I really don't know what folk want. His fortune isn't a bottomless pit. He stepped in when no one else appropriate wanted to. He's never said he'd fund a promotion push, big signings etc etc.

    The guy is a legend.

Were it not for him, I'd have in all probability been watching 'Barnsley 2003' playing parks football in front of a few hundred spectators for the last decade.

His largesse has kept us ticking over in this league for the past seven years or how ever long it is.

I am sure he ain't perfect, but he's done more than anyone to a) bring us back from the dead and b) keep us punching (arguably) above our weight for so long.

Is that the same John Dennis that led us into Admin Nudger?

Don't give him the credit for upgrading the ground either. That only happened cos we had no choice but to do it when all the standing areas were closed down

That's boll@x we went into administration because itv digital folded and the Natwest bank removed our overdraft. No chairman did more for our club than JD, 3 stands, fantastic academy and training facilities the premier league and a playoff final.

    As I remember it.......

...... PC has always stated he would save the club, but he would not bankroll it. I have heard that at many meetings he attended before his health deteriorated. Saying that, he has written off millions he loaned to the club. He has always stated that if someone came along who had the money and the best interests of the club at heart he would sell.

JD and his father before him served the club well. He has admitted he made mistakes, but, as pointed out, probably the most glorious period in BFC history came under his stewardship.

Both men have the best interests of the club at heart IMHO.

To start blaming either man is petty and disrespectful.

I think its more to do with a lack of vision by the owner, other than the fact he would like to see a team of local lads playing for the club, which hasn't happened there has been nothing else. We have just been fire fighting for 7/8 years.

How about creating a board again and issuing shares to raise cash/spread the load?

Didn't really work last time did it? And wasn't JD castigated for the way he treated the shareholders?

Yes he was. But having single man control isn't working much better is it?

So what is the answer? TBH I don't know.

A board with members willing to put in money would be great. But if there heart is not in the club, and they come on board for other reasons, then we are opening ourselves up to be a Pompey, or Birmingham.

No matter what you think of PC, he is a fan and I don't believe he would sell the club down the river.
