Seeing as the Frimpong thread turned into members having a little moan at each other (lame) I thought I'd try and get some real opinions on Frimmy He's not played many games for us, and has definitely been bad more than he's looked good, but after one of his early games there was a lot of optimism on here that he was a great signing He's still young, and does have some good experience at a high level. The fact that he has been given games by Arsenal and Ghana suggest that he does have something. He didn't play this season until he was thrown into a few games for us Basically, I think there could be some potential for a great player with Frimpong, and I'd like to see Wilson keep him on for another year. A full pre-season and run in the team and he could be a revelation in the league below! Thoughts?
I don't really know what his attitude is actually like, but I get the feeling he has been stigmatised as a bit of a 'big time Charlie' just because of his time at Arsenal and his celeb reputation None of us really know what his attitude in training etc is His recent antics just seem like some funny banter to me - as long as it's off the pitch I don't mind. He's obviously a bit of a joker
agree with redstar The blokes too big headed to realise the privilege he has of being a professional footballer
Seen him in every game for us so far , he has had a good half out of all games he's played . His passing has been abysmal , and not shown no effort at all
He has talent, there is no doubt about that, but his attitude stinks, his application and commitment aren't good enough and he generally can't be arsed because he doesn't need to. All in all he's a waste of a shirt.
Can we all remember the ONLY player to come out and speak about him his Luke Steele to Sky sports News. He compared him to Jim O'Brien. I can't remember what he said to the point but it wasn't negative
Best characters in the dressing room: Frimpong is probably the most interesting character I have seen in a long while! He definitely livens up the dressing room. He's great to have around, especially being young and very energetic. So he can't be that bad can he. He's GREAT to have around.
In the dressing room. I notice he didn't comment on how 'great' it was to have him on the pitch. Also, anyone who has to write school reports knows that 'interesting' is code for a pain in the backside.
What else is he going to say though? Luke is an experienced professional and an ex captain so of course he is going to wax lyrical about a team mate.
He could say what he wants. It was a question about the dressing room and who are the best people inside. If he didn't want to mention xy or z he didn't have to. Maybe you want to see what hes like before you start comments like you have the above.
I would think there is a player somewhere with Frimpong but in all fairness he has been so disappointing.Maybe we're the wrong team for him (struggling) maybe the coaching staff should have done a "Vaz Te" with him by braking and rebuilding him. When we signed him I thought he would be full of enthusiasm and up for proving a point but that's not been the case.As for his personality I don't know but Peter Ramage said that he was a good lad who had settled into the squad with ease.
I have based my opinion on the 45 minutes of effort and football we've seen from him since Arsenal realised he was a waste of space and got shut of him.
It's stuff like this - he's a Barnsley player for goodness sake! He's not had much of a crack in the team, and we're awful at the minute anyway. If he played well in these last 2 games everyone would suddenly be bigging him up as quality
He's only a Barnsley player for the next 2 games, hopefully. No matter what anyone else says, I think he's utter garbage.
What do you mean by he's a Barnsley player for goodness sake? That you expect him to be ***** or that he's exempt from criticism? He's not featuring because he isn't interested. He believes he is better than BFC. That's all I can say.
