Been saying that for a while pal. Mansford talks the talk.......but he ain't walking the walk is he? Leadership at BFC has been poor since John Dennis left. John was a quiet (ish) gentlemen, but was able to manage expectation and talked sense. I had big hopes when Mansford and Watkins came in, but i have not seen anything at all to show me things have improved. They haven't, we've been relegated.
i can't see how our relegation has got a single thing to do with ben mansford. what's more, it wouldn't surprise me one bit, if he wasn't already poking his iron in other fires.
You jokin? How can a Chief Executive of a football club, not be responsible for what happens on the pitch ie. relegation? He is responsible for policy, strategy, budget, manager selection, etc. He has a significant influence.
i never said you had it was a genuine question of the change of leadership and what alternatives are available. I think if there were any alternatives patrick would be exploring them but i hope in my opinion that john dennis is not involved in any shape or form.
i would say in his first season, he largely inherited policy and strategy from the previous regime. the budget had already been pi$$ed away under flicker, and PC had to go back into his pocket to fund the january signings. ben was part of the team who worked tirelessly in january, to support danny wilson's transfer requests. all of which have been poor to disastrous.
I always thought he would need a full season to get the hang of things, will be looking for more next season.
Agreed, year 1 is always going to have a legacy attached to it. But whilst i hear lots of good and positive things spoken by Ben, i see nothing translated through to reality. Yes, vast majority of Danny's signings have not worked......but who brought in Danny......Ben did. There is no hiding when you are at the top of a company; perform well and take the plaudits, under perform and take the criticism. Simple.
agree. but i think ben found himself right back in a $hitstorm and other things had to take backseat while he focused on trying to help keep us up. if we're saying we have to give danny wilson more time to rebuild, i think we certainly have to say the same for ben mansford. i'm looking forward to the rebuild already.
You`ll give Ben a year/time in a new job rightfully, but slag Flicker for his first Summer venture into the transfer market as a manager. Mmmm.
