Everyone said "we got promoted a year too soon". I never quite got that, but I do now. We have done nothing but survive, there has been no real plan. Last season we stayed up by fluke (we really were quite bad, despite the bubble of positivity) and by others going into admin in seasons before. Swansea regrouped, learnt from it, and have been on an upward curve since. Even Town, who we beat in the play-offs, have since surpassed us on and off the pitch. The writing has been on the wall. So my point, I hope we come back up sooner rather than later, whilst we still have a clue what the Championship is about. If we rot for a few seasons, there could be no way back. Get back up next season, or the year after, with a GERT BIG FECKING PLAN behind us, then we'll more than survive in the Champ as we have done in the recent past. It's our division; nobody has spent more time there. After a few beers tonight, I am more than looking forward to the journey back.
I feel that we are set up to challenge for a return at the first attempt, if we can keep our better players and Danny can make a few shrewd purchases then why not, there doesn't seem to be much to fear in league one.
Yer we was quite bad even when we was pulling results out of bag last season blackpool away for example went to 1-1 n they wo all ova us till scotland got a goal a stole it and we stayed up cos wolves wo awful aswell the champuonship is a tough league even the teams spending millions arent going up but cant help but think were here bcos of always penny pinching we have had the players vaz te butterfield stones hammil davis ect just hope like you say its not too long befire were back here but I am looking forward to few derbys n away days in league one just hope our stay is a short one you reds!!!!
Last season we stayed up with a points total that has never seen a side relegated so we stayed up because we deserved to had we go the same points this season we would have been safe weeks ago Regarding the OP we probably did go up a year early but there is no guarantee that we would have come up stronger a year later 8 years is too long to blame the promotion now we had good sides under Davey with Da Silva and Howard etc a decent side under Robins and as mentioned a decent side with Vas Te Butterfield and Drinkwater under Hill but could never sustain it for me the big disappointment was the contrast between the second half of last season and the first half of this Flicker got the summer and start if the season wrong and we never recovered
Sorry but you can't pick and choose when you get promoted, a lot of it is down to luck and momentum, if we hadn't have gone up when we might never have gone up.
With hindsight we should have thanked Flicker for his efforts and got a more experienced man in, but what percentage of the fan base didn't want Flitcroft? It's our fault we went down.
