This is my third (not counting that tortuous season with Cumberworth Under 13s).

Only my 2nd. We've had a lot more highs than those than lows in that time too

Not counting prem relegation as I couldn't get to any games

Sadly, I've seen one more relegation for The Reds than I've seen promotions - and I've seen five promotions.

Four in total, in 47 years of watching. One of those was from the Premiership, which I think doesn't count, so that's about 1 relegation every 16 years or so. Not a bad record for a club with no dosh, must have been some very good management in there for most of the time.

That means I'll be 75 before we get relegated again.

Also seen 5 promotions, all of which count, so over the years it's 5 - 3 to the promotions. Could be worse.

On the contrary, promotion in 1996/97 and 2005/06. First started watching in 1988.

No. The first relegation was 1959 from Div 2 to Div 3 - I think they'd just changed from 2 x regional Div 3 to Divs 3 and 4.

The other relegations were. 1965 (to Div 4); 1972 (to Div 4); 1998 (to Div 1); 2002 (to Div 2); plus this season.

On the happier note: promotions were: 1968 (to Div 3) when we were invincible at Oakwell; 1979 (to Div 3) under Clarke; 1981 (to Div 2) under Hunter; 1997 an event I never thought would happen in my lifetime; and 2006 at the Millenium with the best four penalties in a row I've seen from The Reds

    Four Promotions: 78/79, 80/81, 96/97, 05/06

    Three relegations: 97/98, 01/02, 13/14

So I'm winning 4-3. And to be honest, I don't really think of 97/98 as a relegation season, it was an amazing experience. Although 05/06 wasn't much of a promotion season either. The play-offs were brilliant, but the rest of the season? meh. There were many seasons in what is now The Championship during the 80s and 90s that I enjoyed far, far more than that promotion season.

I enjoyed the 99/00 play off season more than the 05/06 one. Think we had about 4 or 5 players all get into double figures goal wise. Hit Portsmouth for 6, Blackburn for 5 and had a few more 3 n 4 goal routs. Plus that day at Wembley no matter how bitter/sweet it was was an amazing experience
