Anyone think theres a chance he'll be here next season? Interesting he's the only loan player not to be sent back to parent club.
Be a nice thought. Would do a very good job for us at our level. As you say it seems odd he's the only one staying. Especially when he plays in a position we've got plenty of options at.
I hope he becomes a player coach. Seems a nice guy. Likes the club, Problem is, we'll a L1 team next season and he might not want to drop down that far
Could he be in contention for one of the awards!? He did put loads into getting himself fit though for end of season, when he first went off injured, he applaud all sides of the ground, he prob thought that was his season over with
Exactly. Even without him we've five guys that can play for just one match in those two positions. No need for him to hang around....
I have a hunch he will. He wants to live in the north so is limiting the number of clubs he could play for. Can we afford him in L1 though.?
If we can get 400k for Craine and Ramage in for free to replace him I think we'd have done very well.
We'll not be seeing Cranie next season, so Ramage would be a fantastic replacement. Hassell, Ramage, Nyatanga and Big John will be a good set of defenders in Danny's rebuild. Get a couple of lively, forward thinking, brave full backs, and we're good to go without much outlay in terms of defence.
Same. Another option is Peter Clarke getting released by Huddersfield. Said in the Examiner today he's had a few sniffs around him already and would want to stay locally for his wife and three kids. Plenty of championship experience and that of being a captain.
I'm pretty sure Clarke has some personal issues from someone reliable (think Chopra) but a decent player if we took the risk.
Would love it if we kept him. Not only do I think he's played very well this season, but comes across as a top guy and exactly the type of pro you want representing us after some of the players we've had this year. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure he's out of our price range, and he's far too good for League One.
