Players going Pedersen Proshwitcz Hunt McLauchlin Ramage Woods Lawrence Mellis Frimpong Dawson Hassell Mccourt Turner The above will not be playing for Bfc next season plus there will be doubts over Ogrady Jennings Cranie Steele and O'Brien. I'd say thats a big clear out
He is not going to be open on who he is to out. He has one or two contracts to negotiate. Lower than now. So he will get them tied up and then out who he wants to go. All loans will be finished, although I would think he may tempt one or two to stop Got to be a compromise of the two teams
I might get slaughtered for this but it may be detrimental to completely change the squad, even if some of the players haven't performed at Championship level. Next season is a whole different kettle of ball games. Some of our players will look like world beaters in Division 3 and if they are in the team playing well and with confidence then the poor performances this year will be forgotten. Bottom line is, we were not good enough in the Championship, but if we'd been in League 1 with the same squad this year in my opinion we'd have been promoted or at least in the play offs. We definitely need some new faces in under Danny to supplement the side and there's players who will need to leave (for footballing or business reasons). We should also not forget some of the very classy young players we have coming up. I see Digby and Rose as 2 that will be involved in a lot of games next season.
You are right. Game after game this season, supporters and many forumees have labelled every player with the tag "LEAGUE ONE AT BEST" etc If they are good enough for League One, we should have no need for wholesale change just for changes sake. That said, not sure I agree with the OP in that Danny has said anything of the sorts; as people have pointed out there are at least ten possibly going anyway. We need to recruit wisely, but in Danny I trust (although I am still very ticked off with him for not coming to applaud the amazing support at Boro).
Danny didn't actually say that. He said there'll be one or two coming in & a few going out. Do you really think he's going to come out & say we're dumping them all they've been ***** when there's another game to play? Actions speak louder than words, let's see what happens after the QPR game
Even if the players are, on paper at least, good enough for league one, surely their confidence in eachother must be shot after this season. We've had no tempo, looked tentative/negative, and there seems to have been no belief in the way they've been playing. For that reason there's needs to be a big freshening up of the squad but it seems like that will happen by default anyway with loads of contracts coming to an end. Hope we can keep Jennings, he hasn't looked particularly good the last few weeks but you can tell there is a player in there, could be another Hammill. I think O'Grady will interest a number of Championship clubs and is surely worth at least £750,000, maybe as much as a million. I'd also like to keep Steele but paying him a Championship wage to stay might mean missing out on one or two creative players. I think we'll be OK anyway, Danny's approach to games has obviously been influenced by our league position where we just needed to pick up points and nick the odd game here and there, unfortunately it wasn't enough, but a slightly better end to the season at home would have seen us safe.
Re: You are right. I've never deemed them 'League One' players, or that other ******** comment of 'lower league *****'. I deem the majority as plain old *****. Hence me wanting shut of them. ***** in this division, ***** in the next. It's not rocket science. I'd rather stick a fork in my eye repeatedly for 90 minutes than watch another 90 minutes of Tom Kennedy.
Obviously Kennedy isn't good enough but there's several others who struggle in the championship but will do well in league one, I'm talking about the likes of Etuhu, O'Brien & Dawson. The problem is there's a losing mentality throughout the club & it needs freshening up. In some cases players that aren't that bad need dumping for some free agents coming in who haven't spent the past few seasons losing most weeks.
badly written IMHO That articles ridiculous in it it quotes DW as saying one or two player will leave and then lower down has him saying there will be a lot of comings and goings!
All loanees have returned except Ramage Read into that what you will If Kennedy's still here next season there will be a hell of a backlash
Based on Saturday, I'd be absolutely devastated if along with Kennedy, both Etuhu and Dawson are still here next season. Awful players. Questionable attitudes. Not cheap either. I'd sooner play three kids.
Kennedy has still got another year on his contract has`nt he ? Dawson will still be here if he does not get banned and Tutu I agree , let him go! Kennedy might still be here, because I cannot see there being a long queue for his services and I dont think the club will want to pay him off at £4k a week !!!
