Dawson? If that's him giving his all then football is not the career for him. Awful, awful laiker. An abomination.

    Luke Steele.

I think O Grady did most of the time.

Plenty did they just weren't up to it.

I'd say only Mellis, McCourt, Proschwitz, Frimpong, Shea & possibly Cwyka let us down effort wise

McCourt hardly had a chance. How about that goal he scored before allegedly vomiting on the pitch and having to go off ill? Just his style of play. Compared to Mellis who jogged away from the ball week in week out. Or the body language of Frimpong: If it wasn't for Mido our worst signing in the Championship

    They all care.

It's not easy to become a pro footballer and it'll hurt them all. Any loss will.

for 99% of them it is but I also think they care.
IF they get offered a better deal elsewhere then they will move.

I don't agree Phil, I haven't seen much evidence this season anyway.

    I disagree.

He was pathetic as we're Mellis, Shea & Frimpong.

Heart's of a pea all four of them

I think Dawson is absolute garbage and shouldnt be on a football pitch. There are better players in the local leagues. However, in spite of his incompetence and totally lack of guile and pace he DID try hard

Steele, Ramage, JO'B, CO'G for me. A few others in spells but those were the ones week in, week out.

I don't think our biggest problem this season has been effort or players 'not caring'. Under Flitcroft we were defensively suspect, the midfield lacked quality and we didn't score enough goals. Under Danny we were defensively sound, the midfield lacked quality and we didn't score enough goals. In summary, lack of ability sent us down.

That said, if you compare it to last season the level of effort, passion and determination is poles apart. You can make up for having average players if they are running their guts to water every week. I don't think we've had any 'non tryers' but the effort level has not been the same. It's probably unrealistic to expect some of these players to replicate that kind of intensity for a full season and so you expect the players with ability to chip in and win games through ability alone. For me, these included Mellis, Frimpong, McCourt and Cwyka and I don't think we saw enough from any of them.

I could learn every word in every language in the world from English to Mandarin to a dialect spoken by 200 people in a remote village in Burkina Fasso, and there wouldn't be words to convey how bad I think Stephen Dawson is.

But this thread is about effort and caring and if you were being honest youd admit that despite his lack of ability he has always put effort in. That might not have made up for the lack of skill but the effort was there wasnt it?
