I'm not against Cranie winning it. He'd be second for me. But I'm still to be convinced how good a defender he is but then again I knocw f.ck all about football.
I emailed it this morning to my mate who I go to games with, his response was "they left that late, I was looking on Saturday and couldn't find anything". I saw the link via the club's facebook page last week but as I was using my phone I couldn't forward link to him. so this morning I was looking on the club website and couldn't find it. I had to get the link via the facebook page to email to him. He does use the internet but not every day, and he's not on facebook. So if he couldn't find out how to vote god help those less technically savvy!
Your footballing knowledge is vastly vast when compared to my total and utter lack of footballing knowledge.
Just that "Steele has had a few good weeks recently" is a big understatement. Congrats to whoever wins it.
O'Grady for me. A good goals return relative to our league position plus the usual 100% effort throughout. I've always said when he's bad...he's bad and his form has dipped a little of late but it's understandable with the minutes he's playing, largely up front on his own with aimless clearances to chase for 90 minutes. When he's good, he's as good a forward as we've had since Shipperley. Re. Steele, I think he falls into the category of many established pro's we've had over the years. Like Nicky Eaden, because we know his game so well, we dwell on the weaknesses and tend to overlook the strengths. Steele's kicking annoys me, always has. I know people have cited his back problems as a possible cause and I suppose that's fair enough but at this level I don't think his kicking and distribution is good enough. Particularly as (in my opinion) this is a skill that can be honed and improved with hours spent on the training pitch. You can't train to get taller, high balls into the box will always be an issue but he can and should improve on his kicking. Can't fault his agility, speed off his line, shot stopping etc though. I wondered if the introduction of Butland would show us what we've been missing for years but despite Hemsy's protestations, I don't think it did. Which as I rate Butland, probably means that we've had an excellent keeper for the last few seasons.
He got everything in the box did he then Butland? Everything?
Fair enough . To be fair to both Steele & Cranie they've had some bad players around them in the back 5 this season.
Looking for best of a bad bunch it's a pointless exercise winning player of year for Barnsley just means your ***** but better then your team mates
What don't you agree with, that Marshall has been one of the best keepers, or that he has let loads in?
Luke Steele gets my vote. He's the most competent and consistent Championship quality player we have at the club. Craine not far behind.
