6 fookin k already? Wow the early bird offer really works If true, that's bloody amazing, really is Assuming B'Ham don't come down would that put us and Bristol on about same for 4th highest attendences? Behind Blades and Bradford?
Actually my pet hate is people saying things are ironic when they aren't. Usually they're a coincidence or just apt.
Another pet hate is people putting apostrophes in decades ( eg 1980's) or acronyms/ abbrieviations (CD's)
"@ History tells us that the @ symbol stemmed from the tired hands of the medieval monks. During the Middle Ages before the invention of printing presses, every letter of a word had to be painstakingly transcribed by hand for each copy of a published book. The monks that performed these long, tedious copying duties looked for ways to reduce the number of individual strokes per word for common words. Although the word "at" is quite short to begin with, it was a common enough word in texts and documents that medieval monks thought it would be quicker and easier to shorten the word "at" even more. As a result, the monks looped the "t" around the "a" and created it into a circle-eliminating two strokes of the pen." Sauce: http://www.atsymbol.com/history.htm
As expected our current season ticket base is pretty much the hardcore bunch anyway who'd renew no matter the league. Home fans at Oakwell next season will be about the same as this season once STs go off sale. Over half the league should bring 1000-2000 followings and if we start the season well we might even have a better home average attendance next season.
I can see the logic but is "at" really that commonly used? Surely something like 'the' is more worthy of being shortened...or just drop it completely like we do in Yorkshire
I thought that too, but posted the link to show I haven't just come up with it ha. Not sure if it's impressive or really sad that someone's taken the effort to describe the history of the @ symbol. But then again, we're on an online football forum talking about the @ symbol. Swings and roundabouts, really. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
