    A bit of an overreaction?
All sorts of people will have posted similar things every day, so calling him an idiot or whatever is harsh.
Yes he's in the public eye, but so will be other football-related people making jokes at people's expense. Frimpong's reputation makes people give him stick again

I don't want to seem like a Frimpong fanboy or anything, I just think everyone has decided to hate him just because we thought he'd be good but he hasn't been (as of yet)

Crikey Nards I wasn't expecting anyone to leap to his defence, but fair play!

The reason I'd brand his behaviour 'idiotic' is tha yes he is in the public eye. So everyone knows his history. Arsenal, PLeague, Champ lge etc. to BFC, dropped left out. Bench dweller. Humiliated by teammates. Dropped from squad altogether by a relegated Championship club. Fair but deserved demise judging the games I saw him in.

So to brand one of footballs most decorated and successful managers a no one because he's just lost to the Spanish champs is 'idiotic'. Any reaction to that comes his way can't come as a suprise to him?!? Surely.

    It's things like this though:
There's a bit too much venom in it!

I see your point and I see the irony of his comment, but it justgets on my nerves how everyone is so quick to slate him (though I guess he probably won't be too bothered about it)

I think Frimpong's problem is that he represents what a lot of people dislike about modern day footballers. Far too much money considering how little he's actually played, outspoken and seemingly more interested in mixing with celebrities and raising his profile than actually playing football.

Whether or not it's all his fault is debatable. Perhaps he isn't the wasted talent many think he is, maybe he's just a very ordinary footballer. I've seen glimpses of ability but I've also seen games where I'd forgotten he was on the pitch. It's probably too early to judge whether that's lack of application or just lack of ability.

What I do know is that despite the social media presence, the swagger and the bluster if he doesn't improve his game he'll soon be plying his trade in League 1 and 2 and then disappear without trace. I've seen young players with more potential than him disappear so it wouldn't surprise me.

I fail to see how anybody can defend him. He has added NIL value to our fight against relegation, has spent more time effing about on Twitter etc. and playing billy big ******** in the town (him and his mates dumping his car smack outside the main doors of the Asda several times causing an obstruction then refusing to move it when asked to do so, did the same on the pedestrian precinct at the bottom of Market Hill near the Halifax bank).

He's a complete ******** who should be run out of town back to his native London as soon as possile if he hasn't gone already. Like someone said earlier in this thread, he represents everything that's wrong and bad in professional football these days. Dench - knob

Seen him a few times. Loomed exactly what we needed and looked good.

When he had a bad game he was still one of the better performers. We expected a defensive midfielders to be something he's not.

Unlucky our fans expected him to be Messi in the same way Scotland fans expect way too much from Darren Fletcher, because he plays for Man U.
