At stadia around the country yesterday was a reassuring sight. People involved in football do see it as more than a job - the Birmingham players and Lee Clark, the Donny Rovers players, Gareth Ainsworth and Darrell Clarke at Bristol Rovers all wore their hearts on their sleeves. Unfortunately we do not get to see this at Jokewell. We have to suffer this bunch of inept goons who don't care how they perform, how the team performs and don't have any affiliation with their supporters. Their only concern is that the weekly/monthly BACS transfer goes through. I sometimes envy the camaraderie between fans and players at other clubs because we don't get any of that. Which is all down to the gutless tossers the club employs. Tragic really.
Another stellar contribution. Don't ever stop posting on here. The board would fall apart without you.
12 Months ago was the best I'd ever felt watching BFC. Never more did the players/fans/manager feel so together!! Yesterday I couldn't even stand up as the teams walked out, I only did after a bit to clap Steele as he came across.
The lads were in the tunnel ready to come out, the fans were asked to go back to the stands but the 'fans' on the pitch refused to leave the pitch. I'm annoyed as I wanted to give my appreciation to Bobby Hassell who probably won't play for us again & I'll probably be away when his testimonial is but the idiot section of our fans stopped that from happening. I'm not sure why you're comparing it to Birmingham. They didn't invade the pitch, it was similar to us at Huddersfield last year
Wasn't that a case of him attempting to thank the fans for their support (in a match he only had 10 minutes on the pitch) and him being subjected to disgusting abuse including some regarding his family? Not defending him, I just don't remember the incident being as straight forward as him telling fans to **** off after a defeat.
"Irish Gyppo lovely person" (or words similar) was the abuse that a friend of mine overheard at the game. Dawson allegedly responded by saying he'd ******* kill him etc. I just hope he's innocent of this offence he's been bailed for. Getting purposely booked and sent off in BFC games could be the allegation. How would that sit with us? Especially those who say "he always shows passion, he cares" etc. Hope it's ********. But still hope he doesn't stay here. Because he's ****.
Not sticking up for any players here but we had the same passion from a lot of the same players last season and in abundance in fact they gained more points through it than those brum players you are lauding. Will they give the same passion if they are in the same boat next seaon cos that is when you can compare imo. As I said not sticking up for the players but to say they are better anywhere else except Barnsley is wrong imo.
