Yes, mate. For example, Neolithic hand axes, Bronze & Iron Age pottery. Romano British pottery, middens, field boundaries. The remains of a Romano British child aged about eighteen months and a premature infant thought to have been a couple of months short of full gestation.

I ****ing hate this government. Is nothing sacred?

Btw in all seriousness, awesome work. I studied Anglo-Saxon as part of my literature degree, strong cross over with the historical and archaeological context - made me wish I was doing archeology!!

I have, mate, yes. However, my preference is ancient archaeology (pre-Roman, if you will) and I found York have an understandable emphasis for other more obvious eras.

Yeah I think they're into Roman, post Roman, Saxon, Anglo-Saxon and Viking/Norse stuff.

They have some of the best preserved archaeology in Europe both above & beneath the ground at their finger tips. Their emphasis on the eras you mention (although not exclusive) is justified and understandable.
