Can't believe Done ended up playing left-back for you. Didn't look to have a tackle in him at Barnsley - what changed, if anything? Seemed more of a LM to me.
Believe he's played at full back before at Hereford. It took him a few games to get his positional play sorted, but when we were flying he was as influential as anyone and his tackling and defensive play was more than good enough. Had a dodgy game when everyone else did during the mini-wobble late on and Rose came back in, but I'd still expect him to be first choice next season. Why! Because pace is all important in L1. When Hill realised this in 10/11 we were destroying sides at times on the break. Having a left back who can carry it to the opposition's penalty area from his own box in double quick time is a real bonus.
Every BFC supporter needs to read this. This is how bad a year we've had. Flicker gave his special-ist human being a fat two year contract, and he's no better than Michael Rose (who's average) and Matty ******* Done is better than him. That's Matty 'I nearly thought about putting a challenge in there' Done. What a year. From dreaming of 21st in the Championship, to worrying about a team full of Dawsons/Kennedys towing to survive in League One. This New Era int reight good, is it?
That's what some people think. He wasn't helping them with enquiries - he was arrested and bailed. This is far from over.
This has got me thinking whether Jim O'Brien might get away with playing full-back next year, whereas he couldn't realistically in the Championship.
I'm judging Dawson on what I've seen of him in a red BFC shirt, over three seasons. That's nearing 100 appearances he's made, and we've won 18% of those games. I think he's limited. And judging League One from afar, I think we need better players. Just my opinion. If he was tied down like TK, where we had no choice but to keep him, fair enough. But we're talking about a very average (at best) player out of contract, who's had a do with fans of our club, attended Rochdale's promo party, and is on bail isn't he for alleged spot fixing? If we can't find better than Dawson then I need strength to be given to me.
From what I've heard, he was arrested at the crack of dawn, had any computers and mobiles seized, and was questioned over three separate incidents which had massive bets on him being booked (in two games) and sent off in the other. Which happened. He was bailed. That's only what I've heard, and even at that, it means **** all. It could be a huge coincidence (if the story is even true and not just ******** I was told). Time will tell I would hope. And I hope, that it is ********. But he could be the loveliest bloke ever, and I'd still want shut of him. He's not good at football.
What is true is that he was arrested and bailed which he has to answer at the end of next month. Let's hope it doesn't besmirch the name of our club. I wouldn't let Higgy do that. Ne'mind a useless clogger like him.
He's a decent league one player. There's no denying that. He was player of the year for a side pushing for the play offs. It's a bit like arguing that Lallana or Coleman aren't good enough to play in the premiership despite been player of the year for top half sides. However I don't particularly enjoy watching him play & I'm not that fussed whether he stays or go but given he's got an ongoing investigation hanging over him it's probably best he does go.
I'd not offer him a deal, but it's not a surprise. If Wilson was about to release him he'd not have started him against QPR.
People need to realise we aren't going to let Dawson go and be able to bring in someone like Drinkwater, get behind him FFS.
******. i ****ing hope not. or thats me done at oakwell till he has gone. Its ****ing useless, appaling football, stolen a ****ing living
Terrible in the Championship why anyone thinks the prerequisites for a league lower are an inability to control or pass the ball is beyond me really. Bury? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
