Tweet just says : sarah hassell @Sarah_Hassell Protected Tweets 5m So, he's been 'officially' released . Really wish he'd been allowed to play that last game on Saturday.
Gutted. I don't mind so much that he's going now as he's well into his 30's & injury prone, what annoys me was that for 2 seasons before this one he was fit nearly all of the 2 seasons & poorer players were played instead of him
Of course. No grudges at all old Keef. Can understand it now but hope a certain player of much less ability will follow him....
I am hoping he gets a Coaching role at BFC, in some capacity. We hear Ben Mansford harping on about they type of person they want at Barnsley ie. to have a Barnsley connection, live within 25 mins of Oakwell (**** me, counts me out when Stairfoot roundabout is busy and i live in Wombwell), etc. Who better than Bobby to fit such a role and instil what it means to be part of BFC? If he doesn't get a role, then its a fundamental mistake.
This surely can't come as a surprise to anyone, there were definitely times he should have been given an opportunity this season considering how bad a lot of players were but he was only given a contract this season as a gesture with it being his final year. There's been no suggestion he wants to retire from playing, maybe there will be some options in League Two for him? Anyone know when the testimonial is?
Gutted. Would have done us a good job still, hopefully he gets a job in academy or as a coach with us . Good luck to bobby and thanks for your efforts . Danny should have started bobby Saturday if he had decided it release him before
I'd rather Bobby was played in the holding midfielder role than Dawson. Bobby didn't play many games this past season but played well in every game he was part of.
I honestly think that if he was going to be a coach it would have been out by now, like when Hutchins and the goalie came in. How many coaches can an L1 club have?...let him go and wish him well..oh and just turn up at the testimonial..
I'll really miss her she's beautiful made many a away day much better being able to look at her instead of the ***** on the field,
Also from the comical Barnsley Chronicle <s>@</s>ChronOnline <small class="time"> 32m </small> BREAKING: Bobby Hassell tells the Chronicle he has been released by Barnsley Football Club.
Digby needs game time next season, if it wasn't for him Bobby might have been kept on. Dawson is clearly someone Danny likes so there was no room for Bobby as 2nd/3rd choice defensive midfielder, we can't afford that luxury.
