Really - I cant see that he would want to play in League 1 for us or that we would want him - amazed we havent just released him Pleased we have tried to keep OBrien no real opinion on Cwyka Disappointed we want to keep Dawson Hassel not discussing here but not surprised bit sad we arent keeping Kelvin but not over disappointed the rest I am OK with -
I think Cywka's touch of class could be very apparent against the worse teams in league 1 - might look a completely different player!
The only thing I'd be discussing with Mellis is how quickly it would take him to clear his locker out and **** off back to London. No heart whatsoever. Cwyka worth a punt IMO.
I think there's something else happening with Mellis, as he could well be under a certain age & we might get a fee for him even if he leaves on a 'free'. Let's wait & see
The single biggest problem with Mellis is a BAD ATTITUDE. You can be as skilful as you like, but if you don't put the effort in, then you will always struggle.
Well I have to disagree with you there Farnham Red,I personally think Mellis is a very good player but you have to base the style of play around, which we just haven`t done i.e ball 30 foot in the air 50 yard punts from Kennedy to O`Grady stood out on the left wing.PS I wish both Kennedy and O`Grady would both bugger off and not come back
That's what I was wondering. He's 23 and that rule applies until he's 24. I believe we have to offer a contract in order to receive any payment.
It doesn't state "still discussing with Mellis". You could read into the club statement, that discussions have still to take place not that they have started and are ongoing. I personally still think it means goodbye for him or should I say I hope that is the outcome.
I agree with you disagreeing with FR. There's a good player somewhere in Mellis - we've all seen it - I just wish it would come to the fore again. He could rule Division 3 if he wanted to. http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/images/smilies/mad.png
Pretty sure that he has to have trained at the club for three years under the age of 21 or something lie that, basically have come through our academy. I would have thought the more likely answer would be that they haven't been able to get hold of Jacob and would rather tell him in person of his release than do it through the media. I think it's pretty plain that, with the honourable exception of Bobby, those not involved on Saturday are the ones that will be leaving the club, Mellis included.
Mellis should be thrown out of the club. He couldn't be arsed in the championship so what the hell does Danny expect from him in league one.
Weak spine - he's had it all season. I must be losing the plot, I was sure I'd already replied to this.
