I'd have Kay back in a heartbeat, always wore his heart on his sleeve, born and bred in Tarn. He'd take a boot to face to put shirt back on again.
The only thing I ever recall when I think about Kay is the horrible attempt to slide tackle fatty Trundle in the box in the Play off final, last couple of minutes of extra time. I have watched that in slow motion dozens of times since and have never been able to work out how the hell he didn't trip Trundle up for a penalty. He went straight through his legs without touching him - it truly looked like it wasn't possible. Fatty went on to put it in the stand. It was a bloody miracle.
Solid in league 1 and very experienced. Also loves the club and fits the 'made in Barnsley' criteria. Versatile too If we need a CB I'd take him back
Saw him in the Glasshouse (Premier Inn) a couple of weeks ago when MK Dons had been playing at Rotherham. Think he's 31 now but still looks about 22. He's hardly figured for MK this season so not sure if he's been injured or just out of favour?
Barnsley born and bred, experience in getting promoted, good uplifting character, knows League 1 inside out. Why not?
Hardly played all season Barnsley born and bred , is that a requirement ? Heard he is good at drinking
Very good mats with my brother a top lad not sure he's what we need though. The drinking stories are understated...
The only ex Barnsley defender Wilson will sign will be Chris Morgan .... .... nailed on as an addition to the coaching staff. "Chris was a great competitor as a player and we are pleased to welcome him back to his spiritual home ( and he stills lives in Penistone)". He'll be in before pre-season training starts.
Re: The only ex Barnsley defender Wilson will sign will be Chris Morgan .... Coaching in the used of the elbows as a weapon. That's all we need down at Oakwell the return of a thug.
Re: The only ex Barnsley defender Wilson will sign will be Chris Morgan .... Can't believe we'd let Bobby Hassell go and then sign someone like Antony Kay.
