Oh aye can imagine being owned by the supporters.

Memo - Due to the fact the manger says signing a new striker is a priority, he has identified player A as his number one target, how much are we willing to pay to get him.

Whitey/Dyson Hold on, we want to ask Keith first, see what he thinks

I admire your youthfull exuberance, but playing devils advocate for just a bit longer.

If you had the time and resources and could start again from scratch, what would you do to build a trust that people would want to join?

    1. Free membership to all supporters who bought a ticket/centenary membership/shirt in the club shop.
    2. Open & democratic elections to allow those members to select who they would want to represent them.
    3. Regular correspondence and dialogue with members.

That sounds like a great club to be part of but I havent got a clue about why it exists or what its aims are? Statement needed

It's a brilliant idea in theory. One I'd love to happen one day. Not sure how viable it'd be but one I'd like to be involved in in some shape or form.

The only sticking point for me is that I can't see the 'closed ship' ever becoming an open one. I hope I'm wrong like.

My main gripe with the club is that when it comes to select managers we've got non footballing people to select the best candidate!

Ben, Barry, Maurice, Patrick etc and Don before! It miffs me!

It exists to further the interests of it's members. To lobby the existing owners to keep prices affordable, make the Football Club the centre of the community, promote the club to younger fans and as a long term aim take full control of the day to day running of Barnsley Football Club.

The engaging of the 'next generation' is one that's very close to my heart and one I'm very passionate about. I agree whole heartedly.

Can,t see it happening in a big way in this country tbh capitalism is in full swing and any money making oppertunities will prevail in favour of the few. Most of Our politicians of all colours would sell their own grandmother if the price was right we just sold royal mail for next to nowt.
As soon as clubs started showing any recovery or initiative the powers that be would get their lawyers to interpret the law in favour of the few and would eat away at the credibility of such schemes imo.
    Shame though

I'd love to be involved in some way now and/or the future with regards to this element of the clubs future. It rankles me with the current set up.

The 'future' you did re Sunderland/Cardiff etc was so simple, yet so effective. I'd love to see that and more at Oakwell

Youve done some good stuff with the WSB and I cant fault your enthusiasm, if you decide to take the "supporters ownership" idea on, get some more enthusiastic young uns on board and ignore the cynical old barstewards like me

That was mainly Gally's work and really good it was too.

    Glad you appreciated it

It encapsulated every idea I'd had and was gonna put together. Quality input. It's nearly 1.5 years old or so. Just hope the suggestions are embraced.

Id suspected right at the beginning. The real reason for WSB was to gain support for an eventual push into the running of the club.

Don't spoil what many thought the WSB was for ie. Charity and fun by using it as a tool to actually start interference. Keep WSB as a laugh. Join the supporters trust or what ever. Seek for election and push for ideals their.

Sorry if it offends but even some tweets coming from the WSB account I think aren't the place for that sort of stuff. Many may disagree but it looks like you have underlying intentions now so I would try keeping them separate

Ps history shows that takeovers often have a negative impact. After just being relegated the last thing we need at the moment is even more unrest/turmoil. Oh and for the record I do disagree with a lot the club do. I just don't think now is the time.

I had this chat with Mr. Stunt on the ferry to Dundalk. WSB should remain divorced from the Club. That's part of what's made it such a success. The closer it gets to the Club, the more sanitised it will become.

Exactly mate. I decided to sell a few thousand magazines so I could end up running a multi-million pound football club.

Give over. WSB is for charity. It always will be. There are no underlying intentions - if there were I wouldn't be tweeting 'em, would I? But it's not just a laugh, it's an opinion magazine where we will state our opinion. And our opinion is that supporter ownership/involvement is a good thing.

Absolutely. And that's a conscious decision.

Here you go Dys, a glimpse into the hassle of even being associated with an idea about getting involved with running/input into BFC.

Good luck when you're on the committee overseeing player recruitment. Or ticket prices.
