    Hope Wigan do it!

Heard other day that QPRs wage budget is bigger than Bayern Munichs!!!!!!!!!

    No wonder were down!

Do you really think that is the reason?

    Yes one of them Ian.

We run at a small profit. They're on parachute payments and still are £100 million + in debt. How is that ever to be considered owt near a level field?!?

It's not even close, I know not every team can be level financially but that's not even close or realistic IMHO

I know how you feel mate. Think this was covered in yesterdays debate. We have the same problems with the bigger and richer clubs in the league. The good news it it is heaven when you beat them.

    Aye probably it was fella.

But I'm at the stage where I wouldn't want to be successful doing it 'that way'! It holds no attraction to me. I think if I was a QPR fan(and others) then I'd have lost interest long before now whilst sticking with a perennial struggler.

It's against everything I believe in!

But you wouldn't C_S. If a multi billionaire came in and bank rolled BFC up to the Prem and you found BFC up there with Man C going for the Championship you would be there cheering along.
    It's only human nature mate.

Tbh Ian I think I wouldn't depending on the s/t prices etc. Even if it was my beloved Barnsley I would not be blackalied or conned into paying ridiculous prices.

I really wouldn't want that to ever happen! That's the truth! I couldn't think of anything worse. It's all and everything that's wrong with modern football.

    Marlon and C_S.
I totally agree and see where you are both coming from but it would be near impossible not to support the club you love.

Money and greed has ruined football.

It wouldn't then be the club I love! That's the point.

3 of my good mates are Citeh fans. All 40 year old. Went thro L2 years and before/after. All say that it's not the same now. When owt else than 1st and another trophy is deemed as failure! Not my cuppa all that *****. You can keep it.

Ian I started supporting/watching Barnsley around the mid sixties in that time I haven't missed many home games up to the premiere season mostly though illness or shiftork. When I found myself out of work during that amazing year I couldn't afford three season tickets (for me and two sons ) so if they couldn't go neither was i . Up to that season even though I saw most matches I never had a season ticket but started buying them when we were relegated to third division when my new job didn't I involve shift work now I am taking one grandson and eventually two but I can promise this that if Barnsley ever went down the route of exploiting fans like myself I would find other interests for my grandsons and probably never return. So much has changed since I started watching them.

Yeah, Isn't it great to just support our little clubs, take the rough with the smooth and cherish every victory. Those big rich clubs have lost all identity and there is no connection to the real fans. Horrible.

Very much like yourself mate. My father took me along to Tannadice early 60s, he used to go Dens one week and Tannadice the next but was a United supporter. I followed the Black and White route, we played in Black and White in those days. A wee neam with no history but it had appeal. All my mates suported the Dees or Celtic or Rangers but I stood firm and I'm glad I did.
Like yourself I'd a job which took me away from football for many years and I missed a lot of good times but now since being made redundant and taking early retirement i'm making up for lost time.
Got two grand daughters in Dundee so might think about taking them one day. My other grand daughter and grand son live in Shetland so thats a wee bit harder. And their father is an Aberdeen supporter. Not good. LOL

I feel same if we got a top class batch of youngsters and sold them for 10/15 million and reinvested and sold them for massive profit wile at the same time getting into the championship play off maybe even being promoted and getting the glory fans back through the turnstile I'd be the proudest Barnsley fan alive basically doing it like Southampton are trying to do it, but being the next Chelsea city or Lester I'd find something else to do go watching boxing darts golf and netball or something instead, it's like getting a sexy bird by lying to her you've got her In sack and your way out of your league and you've cheated to get there you enjoy smashing it into her because she's sexiest thing you've ever had but it just don't seem right and you know it's not going to last because it's just not right it's all tainted and your shagging a woman that only wants you for the money and fans of them clubs are cheering players on that are only in it for the money and if it drys up there off
