One thing I don't understand, and I'm no fitness guru by any stretch of the imagination, but why does an English team benefit from warm weather training? We will barely play a game in the season in temperature's above 20 degrees, surely we'd be better going to Norway for a couple of weeks to get used to the cold? I must be missing summat obvious.

Im interested in results on the pitch......and when we don't get them (like last season), i start to ask questions.

Going to Italy for a pre-season preparation is fine by me.......IF we get it right on the pitch come August onwards.

Actually you could argue it was beneficial and that without it we'd have had a worse season. And it's not a holiday and it's not about Kennedy.

Of course it's possible, we finished next to the bottom, not bottom!

And me. Danny will have them working their ******** off. They won't be going there to sample the local wine and sightseeing.

Athletes have been doing this for years. The body is apparently exerted more in the heat and it helps give a solid base of fitness and conditioning.

The problem last year was Flitcroft was allowed free run of a sweet shop after they'd returned from the training camp and therefore destroyed all the camaraderie built in one fell swoop.

Because our manager, who in the last 2 campaigns at this level has finished in the play offs and has an over 50% record, believes it's a good idea.

Or the club might use actual science to recognise the benefits?

I think its a good idea. Get together, work out the plan, intensive training and team building. Sometimes I don't think they can win. However we might need some players first before we go! - when is it?

There is less chance of muscle pulls and strains in a warm climate. Pre-season training is very hard on the body and is a time when a lot of players are injured.
