And in other news Irish scout Seamus O'Reily was sacked today after being found guilty of submitting fraudulent expense claims. An employment tribunal heard that evidence that he was at home watching clips on YouTube when he was supposed to be in Barnsley, South Yorkshire was overwhelming.
they must be scraping the barrell, the bloke can produce a moment of magic, but I reckon for 5 seconds in one of 30 games I probably could as well.
Some of us strongly disagree about this particular player. Criminally neglected as far as I'm concerned. Looking forward to watching Dawson plying his silky skills in League One though. Not.
They've just got a small pool of talent to choose from. It says it all the Jonny Evans is there best player, someone who when everyone is fit has been Man Utd's 5th choice centre back the past 2 seasons.
Bit of a strange comparison, surely he's better been compared to O'Brien or RNL. A holding midfielder isn't likely to have a similar skill set to a winger/attacking midfielder.
Not so strange if you consider that on the rare occasions Wilson gave him a run he appeared to be trying to play in a deep-lying role. Mr Django, we both know that we hold diametrically opposing views regarding this player. You've been consistent in your view, and so have I. I'll always believe that Wilson's overly conservative approach, and faith in 'effort' players such as Dawson at the expense of those that might cause the opposition a few problems, directly contributed to our spineless relegation from the lowest-quality Championship in recent years. I respect the fact that you see things differently and, of course, we need to move on. I'm desperately hoping for a brighter future for the club and its fans.
And if they grew up in Northern Ppaddyland supporting Celtic, they defect to the Republic Of Paddyland leaving their birth country even shorter on players
Me too. I don't really rate Dawson or McCourt but there's no way Dawson's kept McCourt out of the team. Jennings, Cwyka, McLaughlin (rightly) & Shea (briefly but wrong move) kept him out of the side in my opinion. Dawson kept Etuhu out of the side in the holding role which I think was a bad decision.
Is it the same name as the sectarian bigots who send live ammunition in the post to the families of Paddy McCourt, Neil Lennon & Niall McGinn for having the audacity to be of a different branch of the Christian religion?
McCourt easily the most talented player at this club in years. Danny took the view we had the best chance of escaping relegation through lesser players who might sweat a bit more: he got that wrong but we move on. If you're born Irish in Norn Iron I can't imagine why you would want to represent the Province. The bile, bigotry and threats. Why would anyone put up with that.
I personally think any combination of players would've got us relegated. I looked at our squad & didn't see much beyond Steele Cranie, Ramage, Hassell, McLaughlin, Jennings & O'Grady & several of them spent spells injured / ignored. I don't think players even think of religious issues when choosing the Republic over Northern, they just do it for a better shot in playing at a World Cup or the Euro's
