top lad, his older brother was year below me at school, he was a hard kid as well. gutted for him, thought he might have got the decision
I hope he gets the chance to make it third time lucky. He's not the best fighter out there, but he's one of the most stubborn and as brave as brave gets. I thought he deserved the decision. Caught McDonnell flush on more than occasion and landed more punches. I think his legs went in round 11 and Gavin's superior speed saw him snatch a draw in those final two rounds. Enjoyed it though. Can't wait for a week on Saturday now. Love boxing.
yeah im on count down for next Saturday, gonna be a cracker, I want groves to win but think froach is gonna do it
Shame it was at leeds arena kept hearing "we are leeds" and even "stand up if you hate man u" just think leave it out
Cracking fight. Scored it 115-114 to Wale but can't complain at the draw. I've got a feeling that was one of them now or never moments for Wale, it's hard to see him matching that performance again. He did himself & proud tonight though. Massive respect
Me too. That was his best chance, so such a shame. Certainly not many are as tough as he is. Just couldn't keep it going for the one more round he needed. And great to see the BFC written on his tape. I like the McDonnells though, but Gavin's never going to be as good as his brother. Similar styles and they both like to sound their punches out with a "pow". Jamie is one of the most underrated British boxers out there and fingers crossed he can get the world title back (albeit a different version of the alphabet soup) next Saturday. At least this one will be on the telly!
Completely agree with you. Gavin fights in a similar style but no where near as quick & a lot more basic & predictable. I like Wale, he's never been in a bad fight just lacks a bit in the skill department, doesn't lack anything in balls or effort though
