I intended to but haven't bothered, only ever vote in the generals.

I'm hoping there are a few surprises in the results from today, not because I want one of the less mainstream parties to gain power at any stage, but it will give the big three something to think about.

its a shame and a crime that voting in this country is being taken for granted by some . my grandfather and great grandfather laid down their lives to keep this country free and democratic as did many others. although the system is by a long way not perfect. the only winners in people not voting are people who would abolish voting and dictate our future.

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment, the biggest crime in my opinion is not having one political party worthy of a vote. In my view they are all liars, schemers, who seem to be more intent on destroying each other than actually mapping out their own beliefs. I just can't identify with any of them.
Let's face it, the options are not good
Over-privileged people looking out for themselves
Privileged people pretending to be working class
Backstabbing no hopers who'll take any chance at fame
    Racists/ extremists/ weird people

I'm absolutely pig sick of having people's political beliefs thrust at me on Facebook, e mail etc.
Sorry, my ancestors also fought for a vote, but I cannot choose between a bunch of people I have no connection with.

I agree with your point Marlon but sadly the apathy in this country brought about by all three main parties being nothing but a self serving, corrupt, lying shower of cotemptable b'stards has meant a lot of people just can't be arsed anymore because whatever they do nothing ever changes.

Couldn't agree more. I hardly ever vote, for exactly the same reasons you put forward. If I were to be made to vote, I wouldn't have a clue who to vote for because to me they're all the same. My head is totally in the sand I'm afraid.

tbh with great respect your points are more to do with not making yourself aware of party politics and their consequences especially ones that probably don't involve yourself or family personally, i can assure you the partys are not the same by a long way, unfortunately the media have a lot of influence and in some cases bias as to how each party are presented

Interesting views here guys but at the end of the day if you can't be bothered to vote you can't really moan about things should they not go your way.

TBH I did vote but it was more to make sure the radical elements of the political scene do not get elected. No way do I want the likes of UKIP to get any power.
    Very dangerous people.

Of course I voted for my SNP candidate who are very nice people. :D ;)

People are lazy. It's so easy to just roll out 'they're all the same' or whatever. If you can't see the difference then you're just not interested. The tories have ravaged my line of work, teaching, so maybe that's easier for me to see. But the parties do have fundamental differences

thats your privillege and i respect your thoughts but the alternatives frightens me more tbh. there are candidates and partys out there who are genuinely in it for the greater good. but its up to the individual to find which ones. the media are a lot to do with the status quo unfortunately

If ever I felt my vote counted, and a connection to any of the parties, I'd vote.

it doesn't matter one jot who he voted for, at least he voted so has a genuine stake in who is in the driving seat or the passengers seat you'll have to go where youre told. in a cryptic kind of way
