Saying if Luiz is worth £50 mil then stones must be worth £120 mil. I like seeing this and remember how much we got paid for him....
I hope PC likes reading this kind of thing because he was possibly the only man in the world that thought that the Stones deal was a good one.
at the time it was the best deal that was on offer. for someone who wanted to leave. he would have arguably been worth less if we'd clung onto him. and there's no way on earth we could have developed him like everton have. personally, i hope he does sell for £120 million. we'll get a lot more than if we'd hung on for an extra £1m...assuming this fabled sell on clause exists! anyway, good luck to the lad.
I remember when everyday you'd read at least one post on this forum saying, "if Chris Brunt is worth £3 million then Brian Howard must be worth at least £9 million." Chris Brunt has played the majority of his football in the Premier League since then. Brian Howard has done just about **** all.
I beg to differ, I never thought it was a good deal. It was obvious the lad was s very special talent and we held all the ace cards. Yes if the clause does exist then the deal won't look so much like a mugging but that is the only hope I am holding on to.
Surely there's a sell-on clause when you sell a player at such an age after developing them for over half their life. Suppose this is Ron Dowing we're talking about though.
To be fair Brunt dint half blow hot and cold for Wednesday, few Owls at work didn't really rate him, seemed a bit one-dimensional but when your one dimension is being able to whack the ball in the net you can't complain!
