My knowledge on politics isn't great....manly due to the fact that I think other than a different colour rosette they are all the same! Toffs who don't know how 85% of the country lives on a day to basis.

From what I've read ukip seem to be using our immigration issue as some sort of leverage to get 1 up on the others. It's clear we do have big issues with immigrants and those that say they there isn't any issue need to wake up, but is it enough for them to take charge of our country??

In a word - no. It is not conceivable that UKIP could make those sort of gains in the next parliamentary election.

If they've gained some seats in Europe then why can't they go all the way next year?

They won't win one seat. When they publish their Anti working class, Anti NHS, and Pro Bankers and Big Business manifesto they will get stuffed at the polls.

    Good question.

I was wondering if Athersley Rec could win the Champion's League next season.

By now the main parties will have their think tanks looking at ways to stifle UKIP.

The one policy that UKIP are banging the drum on is immigration and leaving the EU. If they are pressed on their other policies (NHS, taxation) then I believe they will be found out.

No I don't think their popularity will carry through to the general election but their influence may well be present as the two main parties reconsider the issues that ordinary people want to talk about. I think there will be a single party government this time a while they may only have a small majority there won't be another coalition.

They'll win the Newark by-election in a couple of weeks. At tthe next general election maybe they'll get up to a dozen seats, I'd predict 6.

I'm going to predict zero. Would be nice if the Lib Dems got the same.

As 6 out of 7 ukip voters were previously Tory voters, in an ideal world they will win just enough votes to lose Cameron the election without gaining a single seat.

I think their aim in the next general election is 12 seats with the hope of a hung parliament and a coalition with the tories

Those predicting zero gains for Ukip are seriously underestimating the public's animosity towards the major parties. They will win a big share of the vote (maybe 20%) and a couple of seats.

No chance of any seats the electoral system is skewed against minority parties.
