We bought him for 350k and he has 1 year left on his contract. Many of our fans don't even rate him. Maybe some people are overvaluing him?
Come on now, Rich. How do you overvalue a lad at 28 who has scored 21 goals in just over 50 games for you? 15 last season in a relegated side, plus assists etc. A bloke we paid 350k for and around 250k in wages. You seriously expect folk like me (who do rate him) to see 500k as an acceptable fee? I'd have taken 750k minimum, but hoped for above the million mark. It would be palatable. 500k (if true) is a bloody embarrassment.
And if your brother and others don't rate him, I still can't see how they'd even suggest 500k is good business considering the reasons I've outlined above. You arse.
I agree it should be a bit more than 500k but all this talk of a million plus is miles off IMO. How many penalties?
I've just been told that Blackburn and Bolton are in for him as of right now. Amongst others, too. Perhaps we've jumped the gun with our criticism of the club? Wunt be the first time. Thing is, both Blackburn and Bolton are skint.
or 6000 of us decided to carry on supporting the club we've supported for years rather than bairning abart it
Read the whole thread, Ian. I've admitted it was a cnutish comment. Made it in haste, without much thought. I now see the cnutishness of it. My apologies. There was a point in there though. But I have the tendency to **** my points over with cnutishness. And please, don't expect better of me. Pointless.
You suggested that 6000 people jumped when the club asked em to, wrong 6000 people took up the chance to get there tickets cheaper because they were always going to get one anyway. You say you dont get my point, i say lay off with the snidey comments towards fans who chose to renew
Doesn't matter now anyway. Club won't reveal price if he goes so everyone will assume, rightly or wrong it's 500k
I was trying to make a point about the club getting their own way, but made it badly. I didn't kill anyone ffs. It was a lovely person of a comment in hindsight, I've said this a number of times since I made the comment, I won't be apologising all night as though I've strangled your dog or summat. I did say in earlier posts that those fans did it out of being tight. As in, to save brass, not pay an increase. Which made my point for me really, but aye, I had to go about it by being a bit of a lovely person. But lets be fair here, I've always said I'm a bit of a lovely person. My last response to you was in relation to you referring to me as not supporting the club and instead bairning about it all the time. Wrong. I support it just as much as anyone else, and pay more than most to do so. And I always bairn about BFC. It's in my nature. I'm a bit of a lovely person.
How fvckin dare you even mention strangling my dog. Just the thought of it...well...you lovely person.
I'm not surprised at the figure being branded about for COG, in my opinion he is not worth more than double than what we paid for him. Knock a couple of years off him and he would be worth at least £1million. Anyway we are in no position to be trying to negotiate silly money, we need the money to build a new squad, i can't see how we can do it without selling the likes of COG, Steele and Cranie...
Nowt to do with Rowing or Mansford. Although Mansford's constant ******** really is starting to wear a bit thin.
Given the values in football at the minute. I see no reason why, if we sell him, a million would be our minimum point. Over his 50 games one of the best strike rates in the Championship. Any decent replacement would cost 500,000 (which we probably won't spend). I doubt very much that we will accept anything less than the going rate. To clarify players already under contract are not counted towards the salary cap for the duration of their contract. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
