UKIP will abolish inheritance tax

I haven't a clue at what level it kicks in at..........but that's not the point.............the point is if you have kids you work for them

If its £650k then obviously this is going to disqualify everybody in Barnsley except for Gally and Mrx

But after seeing recent posts from Mrx.........it probably just leaves Gally

Thing is though.........most of Britain is NOT like Barnsley..........the more you see of it the more you realise that Barnsley is the exception and not the rule

There are hundreds of miles in Britain where people live in houses that will take them above £650k inheritance bracket

Most places in Britain are picture post card with pleasant happy people.............hence when they show the political map of Britain..............its blue with a few red dots.
I spent a lot of time at the pit.........when I was at the pit I thought people in Britain were similar to how we were...........but I'm mobile now

 

rubbish,if you've worked your nuts off and you cant leave it to your kids then something is ******* wrong.i can understand you with the millionaire silver spoon brigade,but many,many people have made a decent go of things,worked ridiculously long hours in doing so and as far as I'm concerned taxing their kids on this when they die is wrong is out of order.
believe it or not many succesfull people started from nothing,they arnt all like Cameron and Gideon.

Well for me they owe me nowt. I've told them to spend every penny enjoying themselves now in their retirement. And they are doing. SKI-ing holidays my dad calls them, as in Spending the Kids Inheritance.

If the masses aren't paying it because their estates aren't making the threshold (source HMRC) then it's hardly oppressing them. Try low wages, zero hour contracts, poor pensions, and bedroom tax then you might be on to some serious supression.

 

It should be abolished, why should a man or women work save all thier lives for the state to take it back.

It simply isn't fair.

 

On things that help normal people I would put it around 967th on the list just below UKIPs other policies of making the circle line a circle again.

In other news UKIP would raise tax for the lowest paid 88% of people whilst slashing it for the rich. Be careful what you wish for.

It wouldn't get a mention in most people's top 20 political issues. Because it doesn't affect most people.

Did some research for the Rowntree Foundation just after Christmas. Some grandiose thing they commissioned about the Future of Britain. Part of it involved going to various marginal seats and interviewing "undecided voters". One of the questions asked of them was to name their top 10 political concerns. The list is above. In interviewing over 500 people no one mentioned Inheritance Tax.

But it doesn't help anyone if you just continue to keep saving it, die, then give it to your kids, and they save it too. Then what's the point having it? (I can't believe I'm actually saying this as I'm the biggest advocator of saving in the world normally.) Plus, they don't take it all, when you get above the threshold, even with the percentage tax taken off, your kids would still be set up pretty well. You keep saying about how hard you work for your kids, well it won't hurt them to work hard for themselves too. You shouldn't work just so that they never have to.

 

According to Save The Children there could be 5 million kids living in poverty IN THIS COUNTRY by 2020.


I bet they are well concerned about inheritance tax.

 

Some people get away with claim too many benefits. Should we scrap all checks and rules for them and then we can all claim some?

Do Ukip say somewhere that this would be their number one priority? No, didn't think so.

Ukip won't win the election, and even if they did this would be well down the to do list. It's a popular policy, but one they'll never have to worry about paying for so wind your necks in.

I've been taxed to death on money I earn, money I spend, purchases etc but you think it's a good idea to tax people again after they've died?
My kids probably won't even qualify to pay inheritance tax but that doesn't make it right.
They should be entitled to everything you've worked for including the telly, car and house - You've paid for them and been taxed on them half a dozen times already. I got chuff all when my parents died but didn't resent anyone who did.
That's the problem with modern society, people who better themselves are frowned upon,
