http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-27635564 Records only began in 1910, and who says they are even that accurate? 4.5 billion years of climate but basing these bullsh*t taxes on 104 years of questionable data.
it's obviously just my opinion given the technology available when records began but there is evidence to suggest that it was significantly warmer in the 14th and 15th century than it is now, obviously no actual data is available but there are ways to get an idea, through ice cores and other records.
no actual data available ! just guessing then , it suits , like I said the human race will be gone , earth will survive
They are peer-reviewed reports so you'd imagine those who wrote them knew what they were talking about. The whole climate debate has been one big contradiction, more and more scientists who originally supported the man-made climate change theory are now actually coming out and saying, "actually the effects on the climate from emissions is almost immeasurably tiny". This of course is never reported in the mainstream media.
I'm unsure of what those naysayers of climate change are saying. That because it's bunkum we should just keep trashing the planet? You don't have to believe it in my view to know we're making a mess of this beautiful world.
How is it propaganda? It says since records began. Not "ever". Can I just ask you out of interest, are you genuinely not concerned by say, the rise in Co2 emissions? The disappearing polar ice? You're not at all worried, at least that things might be unpredictable, even if we don't know how they will affect us?
No but is it right to use it as an excuse to tax people to death even more? It's finite natural resources we are using and alternative sources of energy are being developed. There seems to be some new climate scare story that everyone jumps on every 20 years or so - in the 70's it was "global cooling", 80's you had the hole in the ozone layer which then magically repaired itself, and now the one that's really stuck is (man-made) global warming.
I don't know how we can worry about something we have no control over, the earth has gone through several cycles of ice at the poles and no ice, technically we are in the latter stages of an ice age.
Yes, that's true, but in addition to that natural cycle, we are manipulating the chemical make up of the atmosphere. I'm not trying to persuade you to be worried as you have obviously made your mind up long ago. It just fascinates me that some people aren't even concerned at the unpredictability of this factor. I can't speak for you, but the only thing I can come up with is being in denial is probably much more comforting. I feel utterly powerless in this too, but for very different reasons
As I understand it roughly 98% of scientists agree and a couple of loonies don't. Not sure if that counts as debate though... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
The earth will not survive indefinitely, fact. And there is no proof to say that the human race will die before the earth does. As for climate change I am not saying that its a myth but if you read about the changes in the climate of the earth through each geological period of the earths history it does make you wonder if the change is entirely man made.
Hence why we have ECO and GREEN DEAL on the go, the uk signed up to a treaty to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2050. They have created a lot of jobs in the construction sector through this too. Our first target is to be met for 2020
So, in essence what you believe is that we should carry on pumping out billions of tons of CO2 and hope that the vast majority of the scientific community is wrong? A sensible stance would be to reduce your CO2 output on the off-chance that they are right.
Meanwhile China and America pump much more into the atmosphere our country could ever do. Whilst they are apparently trying to reduce this China are about to use Russia as another feeding frenzy. If you ever watch the opening credits to have I got news for you when they jokingly show Russia switching off our gas supply. Makes you wonder should they ever be faced with China and its demand. If taxes are used fairly (as in green taxes being used for actual green development and research) then fair enough we may one day avoid that scenario. But I don't trust any government to do what's right. Only what may win them 2 more votes in some other constituency.
A representative debate on climate change http://youtu.be/cjuGCJJUGsg Hopefully that balances things up
