Nothing for Italy to be concerned about there. Even when down to10 men England failed to trouble them. Thoughts?
hart and gerrard watching a different game to me. 4 chances creates against a dog **** team. laughable, overpaid and overhyped. First place home
Aye you could be right there mate but I don't think humidity had much to do with the performance tonight. The game was played at a fair pace by both teams it was the awful finishing which let both teams down. Neither keeper had much to do throughout. Maybe Lambert to start v Italy as Sturrage had a shocker tonight. Even against 10 men England looked poor up front.
We play far to narrow and it's to easy for teams to crowd the 18 yard line and block us out. I think sterling has to start next week and had he done tonight it would have been a different game.
yeah true. I think the Italy game will be nervy and a cagey affair. Must have been even duller watching as a 'neutral'
Ah Well I knew someone would take the bait. Funnily enough I could have bet on it being you. You just cant help yourself. LOL
Well yes Johnny that is true. I do hope I do enjoy the festival. Great to watch some of the worlds best players in action. I know a lot of the banter between me and you guys will revolve round how England perform. And it is only banter. Like yourself I watched the game last night and TBH that England performance was pretty poor. As you saw no punch upfront. My opinion is play like that v Italy and you will get nothing from the game. You really are gonna have to up your game and quite honestly I don't know if you can. All will be revealed on Saturday night.
We were starting to play well when the ref took the teams off, then just before Half time it was coming together again...Rooney and Gerrard go off at half time and we weren't as good after,,,that tells me Rooney and Gerrard are important to us having any chance. By the way in 1978 I bought into Ally McCloed's we can get a medal stuff......
And Johnny so did I. LOL There again I was only 22 at the time so didna ken any better. Well that is my excuse anyway. Don't you think England would be better starting with that big lad up front from Southampton? I can't remember his name but he has been a bit of a late developer but very dangerous. Could cause the Itie rear guard a few problems.
If the northern colony could ever actually scrape into a finals...They'd probably be celebrating one their heroic draws against the Faroe Islands to send them on their way...
I'd play Rooney up front, Sturridge, Sterling and Barkley behind(The Ox if he was fit), I think Rooney is better with his back to goal and Sturridge running on....
