Re: I thowt Jennings was free transfer...

Wages for the season just finished. We had a big squad. We re-signed players like McNulty and never even played them. We basically re-signed everyone from the season before bar Steve Foster who may have actually been able to do a job. We gave a lot of them away in January and the rest left at the end of this season. Frittered away I'm afraid.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a considerable increase in agents fees too, plus the ridiculous "transfer fees" that can be involved for arranging loan moves with clubs.

It's the thing that annoys me most about last season, the complete waste of the Stones money.

I kept saying this all through last season - wait til you see the figures for agents fees in April 2015. I was told the Pedersen deal overall had cost us best part of a million after paying three agents, a loan fee and his wages.

We seemingly 'went for it' (as much as a club like us can do) and it backfired. Hence the poverty now.

If thats true, someone at the club needs their bumps feeling.

In hindsight (oh if only), it would well have been better if flitcroft hadn't had his assurances granted. I don't think anyone thought it would turn into such a disaster so quickly after such a euphoric high at the end of 2012-13.

More than that, you couldn't buy a biro at Oakwell without Don's approval (I was once told) :)

As others have said, it was never a choice, we didn't have the money available to break the FFP rules even if we wanted to.
