Alpan at 05-00 on a morning, tropical fruit salad and a protein shake for tea, then a glass of milk and two hobnobs before bed , is all I ate for 3 months last summer and lost 4 stone, going to have another Balts at it this summer
Oh and salt replacement and energy pills that I have to have at work

I find the "eating less in calories than you use up during the day" diet to be most effective.

Whenever I eat more than I burn up I gain weight.

But lets be straight - it's fitness rather than fatness that's the issue - so don't worry too much about the weight if you're not breathless running up the East Stand staircase.

    That's always my litmus test.

Keep at it and the weight will drop off.
Maintain the Will Power and I'm sure you'll reach your goal.

I'm interested so please post it, although I suspect that beer, wine and curries will not be very evident on it.

I've really got to lose weight. I've started walking more (but I'm still only doing about mile a day and that only in decent weather). My real aim is to eat healthier though and this is where I fall down. I like cheese and chocolate far too much, and I don't drink enough water. Any tips on a good healthy eating would be appreciated though.

    Here you are guys,

please let me know how you get on if you do it.

    Lose 14lbs in a week?

I was given this diet plan by my step mum the other day - she had been given it by her consultant prior to heart surgery.

The basis of this diet is chemical. If you follow the diet to the letter for one week you should lose 14 pounds (and possibly up to 20 pounds)

Day 1 Breakfast 1 slice dry toast and grilled tomatoes
    Lunch Fresh fruit (any amount)
Dinner 2 hard boiled eggs, salad, grapefruit

Day 2 Breakfast Grapefruit, 1 boiled egg
Lunch Roast chicken (any amount) & tomatoes
    Dinner Grilled steak and salad

Day 3 Breakfast Grapefruit, 1 boiled egg
Lunch 2 boiled eggs and tomatoes
Dinner 2 Grilled lamb chops, celery & cucumber

Day 4 Breakfast 2 slices dry toast, 2 poached eggs
    Lunch fresh fruit (any amount)
Dinner 2 hard boiled eggs, salad, grapefruit

Day 5 Breakfast 1 slice dry toast, 2 poached eggs
Lunch 2 poached eggs & tomatoes
Dinner Fresh or tinned fish and salad

Day 6 Breakfast 1 boiled egg, 1 glass grapefruit juice
    Lunch Fresh fruit (any amount)
    Dinner Roast chicken, cabbage, carrots

Day 7 Breakfast 2 scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes
    Lunch 2 Poached eggs& spinach
    Dinner Grilled steak & salad

    NOTE

    Abstain from anything not mentioned.
Eat only what is shown or do without.
    No substitutions allowed.
    No eating between meals
    No alcohol
    No butter milk or fat

Drinks = black tea, black coffee, lemon tea, grapefruit juice, tonic, soda or water only
Salad = lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and celery only

If you've got a smart phone there are some great apps for calory counting.

Just writing down what you eat is shocking and was enough for me to quit snacking.

The one I have you can scan the bar code of anything you eat and it counts the calories.

Add the end of the day boom - enough calories to keep a small indonesian village alive for a week.

Big wake up call for me.

But again - it's fitness not fatness that's the problem.

Fad diets might worl short term but aren't sustainable and chances are it'll all be slapped back on when you stop. Losing a stone in a week isn't healthy.

Ensuring a calorific defecit through eating less and moving more is the most realiable way to lose weight.

Keep up the good work. You've plenty of willpower it seems. As do those who spend time around you after you've gone through so many eggs :)
