    Just left Crewe after 8 years. His decision. 25 year old winger, plays either side. Met Danny at the weekend, so am told. Plenty of competition for his services though, but all League One clubs. Port Vale favourites due to location.

    Sort of player I'd expect us to be looking at though. Still of a good age, a loyal lad, and in a position we need to strengthen. I don't usually pass stuff like this on. I try to tell folk privately, and when it's a done deal, as folk will know. But it's proper quiet on here, Tykes Mad quiet even, so thought I'd share it anyway.

    Considering the Darfield Red/Lee Gregory posts, I will take this opportunity to say it might not come off. I only know he's had talks. And if he doesn't sign, blame [MENTION=7235]LDRed[/MENTION] for being a **** tipster and haggis botherer.

    Be a great signing if this was to come off, saw him play against United when it was on sky and he was brilliant! Remember saying to the grandfather that I'd have him at our place any day of the week.

    He's a Stoke boy. We're asking new laikers to reside within the Barnsley area. It'll be a factor.

    I reckon financially, we'll have at least matched Vale's offer.

    But staying at Crewe for so long shows he's not motivated by money or, seemingly, ambition.

    Shame. I spent a good ten minutes watching youtube clips of him earlier. Looked a handful at this level.

    *Fact* Bobby and Lawrence said the wages were very poor, this for me is being backed up with players turning us down.

    Didn't Danny confirm that we never actually offered Lawrence any terms? As for Bobby, didn't we release him and therefore not offer him any wages either?

    Adams has just signed a new contract as well so stability wise he was probably convinced too.

    Wonder if Danny could offer/confirm that same stability and long term vision right now?

    That as well.

    They've lost Myrie-Williams to Scunny this aft so Moore seems a like for like replacement.

    **** me. We really are in League One aren't we? I'm discussing its players and clubs in great detail, like they're relevant. Because they are. Jeez. :(

    Today was the first time I automatically went to the League One page on BBC Sport. Sad times, and very, very real.

    Would be a real morale boost if the Crainey signing came off anytime soon.

    I assume there was some credence to it as I definitely remember reading a full article on the rumour rather than just something being spread on Twitter or Footie Rumours.

    But yes, the left back. Contract just ended at Wigan.

    I'm hoping for a Gerard Houlier like press conference with four players arm in arm, that could be a combination of three new signings and JOB with a new contract.
