It's only a discussion when you're giving praise just for the sake of it.

Listening to an interview where the manager is upbeat and anything but negative then coming on here asking if his demeanour is concerning is not looking for discussion. It's just bizarre.

Why do you say he was upbeat? He referred to games against poorer teams than we've been playing and described them as 'tough'. He said nothing about our depleted squad. He didn't sound upbeat to me. He sounded very straight bat, although the interviewer sounded like the most boring man ever conceived.

For **** sake, mate. It was a short interview regarding the fixtures. In it, he described the opening games as tough. I think he was being polite, respectful of the opposition, knowing his words would be quoted by Crawley, Crewe or whoever. What did you want him to say?

"Aye, piss easy games these, Mark. We'll piss the division."

He did refer to us being expected to beat most sides. Is that not upbeat? He said we'd be ready, and looking forward to getting off to a good start. Not upbeat?

Fact is though, I wasn't going to remark upon his interview. It was a basic few words about the fixtures being released. I only remarked upon it because someone (you) decided to react to it so negatively. Which I found bizarre.

I think most of us were ok with the short interview. I think you're the only one concerned.

Might be splitting hairs, but saying we will be expected to beat most sides is not the same as saying WE expect to beat most sides. As for "we'll be ready", well the season starts seven weeks on Saturday, and as it stands, we'd struggle to put out a full side and subs quota. It may be that things will happen very quickly, and further signings will emerge, but they're going to have precious little time to gel and adapt to Danny's systems. I'd have been more reassured if there had been some indication that we have identified targets, and that those targets do not (as I suspect) depend on offloading others. Of course, none of this matters in the grand scheme of things, but this is a forum on which we discuss matters BFC. So "For **** sake, mate" is not really required, is it?

Magic. Headlines in paper - 'Wilson tips Reds to win league' - let's set ourselves up to be pillocked and fire the opposition up.

For ****'s sake is about right

It wasn't an angry 'for **** sake'. It was more of a give me strength 'for **** sake'. You're (still) trying to see the bad in every little thing about BFC. Don't get me wrong, there's a few things that grate on me at BFC. I'm not convinced by a lot of stuff actually. But I have no issue whatsoever with our squad size as of June 18th. None at all. I could name you a matchday 18 right now, so we're not struggling. And as you say, we've over seven weeks before the season begins.

Folk wanted shut of the players, they wanted a clearout, wanted kids thrown in. Well, you've got that. But if you think the way to add to that is by randomly recruiting any Tom, Dick or Harry then I suggest you realise Flicker left.

You refer to the new squad gelling, but they don't return to Oakwell until the start of July so signing them today won't help them gel.

I think you should stop reading too much into what managers say or don't say in interviews. But, maybe you're bang on and I'm just happily clapping away like the club want me to..?

Not stopping you having an opinion, just arguing with you.
