Just heard an advert for something wasnt really paying attention what it was but then it came out with in the 100 years since our Foreparents marched to battle in the first world war ...

Foreparents? its always been Forefathers surely - I know there were women involved in WW1 but I doubt they marched into battle - or am I being picky

No - you're not being picky. It's just a sign of the times I'm afraid. One more shining example, if ever we needed it, of our continuing acquiescence to the ever increasing madness infecting our once great nation.

I'm usually pretty happy to make allowances for people getting offended, but 'foreparents' is a horrible word. I involuntarily gritted my teeth when I read it!

Dunno who it was referring to, if it was just the English there were no women marching to battle, but the Russians deployed female troops and they were our allies.

    Foreparents ffs.

Pretty sure the correct term is forebears. And it's been around much longer than all the PC crap.

Correct, beat me to it, apart from it being a poor example of political correctness it's also very poor use of the English language from what appears to be a media source.
