They're assembling a Championship squad. Barnsley's championship squad.

A decent signing for both parties.Another five games and Bury could have been in our division next season.

They may be skint but Flicker will bankrupt them given another season.

Special human being signs for special human being.

It's all relative I suppose but surely Flicker must be classed as a cheque book manager?

Yep. Travelling by air, first class to Spain for pre season. They've had St George trips, and revamped the dressing rooms. It's all on their website somewhere. Same website that in the article on Etuhu makes him sound like Ramires or summat. A host of top Championship clubs wanted to sign him, yet he chose Bury... Aye, oreight.

Good luck to him, he's definitely found his level. At best.

I remember hearing they flew to some games, were using Carrington and Burton, executive travel. Special human beings.

he really is one of the least talented players to ever grace our shirt, in the championship as well. if you're disappointed with this, i'm disappointed with you!

He had some great games for us in CM and RB. I know what you mean about lack of talent though, he always seemed a bit cumbersome.

He's a weird one is Etuhu. Signed as a winger/forward, given a few chances in that position and looked absolutely useless. Offered nothing at all. Flicker is given the job, decides to convert him into a central midfield player and for a number of games he looks great. He's strong, quite quick, hard in the tackle and all over the opposition. He plays a huge part in our improved results. I very much doubt we would have survived without him. He picks up a couple of injuries towards the end of the season and his performances drop of a bit, but it's likely he's not fully fit.

The next season it's like a different player. He's back to being the useless lump who played under Hill. Flicker obviously thinks the same as he's in and out of the side doing nowt at all. Flicker gets the sack, Wilson comes in, takes one look at him and doesn't like what he sees at all. Out of the squad. Then, injury crisis, needs must and he's picked at right back. 2 away games in 5 days and we win 'em both, 3-1 and 4-1. Our best back-to-back away games for as long as anyone can remember. And Etuhu is a revelation. Looks like he's being playing right back for years. Then he's unjustly sent off, picks up a knock or two and he's all over the place again.

I dunno what to make of him at all. I think it's best to keep changing his position every couple of games because as soon as he gets used to it he becomes wnak.

He was an athlete, occasionally. A bit of a powerhouse for about one month under Flicker. Had one or two decent games at right back last season. But in general he was bloody anonymous. He came here as a striker/winger. No idea how. He's no actual skill, can't beat a man, can't pass, can't cross, can't shoot. Not the worst Hillcroft project, but I often forgot he existed, such was his impact at BFC.

He's a strange player. After Dawson got injured around Jan / Feb time just after Flitcroft took over until May he was quality in central midfield.

Never tried anything fancy, just broke up play well & played quick simple balls out wide.

That holding role seemed made for him but at other times he's been absolutely hopeless.

I remember thinking how he looked like a competition winner at times when we stuck him up front & out wide.

I've no idea how he'll do at Bury, if he's played as a holding midfielder he could do really well but at the same time he's Mr inconsistent.
