Someone photo shop him a Wednesday shirt on and spread it round twitter and book face before they do it to us
This video seems a bit wrong now.
That's depressing. Obviously, if he did it, I want him to be found guilty. It's depressing that he did it.
I think the sympathy he is a getting in the live media (particularly on bbc 5 live) is tasteless and considering another paedophile tied into the BBC children's entertainment world has been convicted, a bit of thought for the victims wouldn't be wrong. Such a tragedy for him and his family? Nothing like the damage he did to the kids and their families. Another BBC paedophile. As Jay has said, quite depressing.
My thoughts exactly. I just wonder where all this is going to end, as there seem to have been a lot of people in positions of power that abused that power. And this was the sixties and seventies we're talking about. Whereas now we all feel there has been a complete oversexualisation of products aimed at youths. Maybe this will make producers of pop videos think twice, for example. Or maybe it will make media outlets think twice about what they think is acceptable to be aiming at a tweenie market. For example, the BBC won't show even the musical performances from editions hosted by one of the many disgraced DJs, but turn over and there's the new Miley Cyrus video.
I heard that she refused to do the video at first but he begged and pleaded with her saying 'don't break my heart, my achy breaky heart'.
It's an odd combination of charges that he has been found guilty of. Count two: Harris was accused of groping a teenage waitress's bottom at a charity event in Cambridge in the 1970s Counts three to nine: A childhood friend of Mr Harris' daughter said he repeatedly indecently assaulted her between the ages of 13 and 19, including once when his daughter was asleep in the same room. He admitted a relationship with the woman, but said it began after she turned 18 Counts 3 to 9 sound like serious sexual assault. Proper horrible stuff. Count two sounds like unacceptable behaviour. Particularly unacceptable as it was a teenager, but it's odd he's been up in court for it. It wouldn't be odd if he was in court for it had he done it today, but I grew up in 70s and from the Carry On films I watched and sitcoms that were on telly, nipping women's arses appeared to be compulsory. I would imagine there are a hell of a lot of blokes who would be sickened by the thought of counts 3 to 9 who slapped an arse or two in 60s and 70s. It shouldn't have been acceptable then, but it appeared to be, and it's odd that you can be charged with it now. I think they should have stuck to the more serious charges and tried him as a sexual predator rather than giving the impression he was a Sid James wannabe.
I know what you're saying about count 2. Certain things have to be viewed within the context of the culture at the time. I'm not saying they were ever right, but it was accepted behaviour back then and you can't really decide 40 years later that it's actually a bit wrong and haul people up for it. Laws should be prospective, open and clear. Not retrospective. It's a bit like arresting my grandma for inciting racial hatred because she called someone a darkie in 1957.
Ive just read the Bbc report which mentions the charges and for the life of me I cant understand how anybody could ever be convicted of charge 1. They havent been able to determine what year it happened in and it was a one off which would have no physical evidence now so how can you be found guilty?
all these paedos from the entertainment world, now it's no surprise that mini pops got made. thought it was weird at the time, and i was only 8!!!
My poor old Granny would have been right in the **** I reckon. Would have made a good cell mate for yours by the sound of it
There are not many who from over the past years have not played cheeky. Most guys have been there. I am not on about involuntary as that is wrong. If a bird from your past accused you, how would go on from one to ten. I believe Saville has a lot to answer for, and who can you believe nowadays. Wife has some of his paintings, so I bet they would not sell now on e Bay
