It's going well so far. A third choice keeper, a totally unproven striker and a central midfielder from the fourth tier who we are pinning all our hopes on. There's a lot of work to do in the next couple of weeks. As the days tick by Mansford's statement regarding renewals becomes less and less valid. This is not intended as a negative post - merely an observation - but as everyone will interpret it as being negative, I've paid my £300 and I'm having my say.
Not everyone. I have concerns right now but the season is still a fair way off yet so I'm certainly not panicking yet. If we haven't brought in some more players by August then i'll start to worry.
By not bringing the players in sooner Mansford is contradicting himself. If we end up scrabbling round for players at the end of July we will end up doing the exact opposite of what we allegedly wanted to do.
Or we have signed better cover for our top class keeper. The best players from 2 other teams and a divisional player of the season. Of course we could go for internationals like Frimpong and Shea again. Re Hemmings if we had signed him directly from Rangers would you have less of a problem. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
It were done to give em a rough idea as to how many will be watching this season, so we knew what we had to play with cash wise. Thats all, but I do understand your, he is pissing up our backs theory and agree.
We knew how much cash we would have so we could identify the appropriate players. The fans have but proactive. The club hasn't.
So you are dismissing someone you've never seen play due to where they are signing them from. Thank god we aren't signing Glavin or Marcelle or De Zeeuw you'd be dismissing them before seeing them. The policy of signing players Fromm Premietship teams worked a treat. You buy a season ticket or not because you want to. You buy it early to save money. The rest is just white noise. Ronnie Glavin? Dint we sign him from Celtic? If you sign ten players from premiership clubs and ten players from the Scottish second tier, realistically which group of players are going to be better?
Am on abart his original statement before tickets went on sale. Still I`ll wait and see what we kick the season off with squad wise.
only because almost every single one of your posts is negative. that makes the observations difficult to spot
Ten players from Premiership clubs Colin Hoyle Jamie Robinson Brek Shea Frank Nouble Brek Shea Diego Arismendi Korey Smith David Fox Frimpong Andy Blair 10 players from clubs lower down the pyramid. Martin Bullock Darren Sheridan Clint Marcelle Lars Lees Steve Davis David Currie Matty Appleby Brian Howard Darren Barnard Martin Devaney. Which 10 do you want. And be honest not just to make a point. Judge players on how they perform for your team. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Not really sure what that proves as you could select ten extreme examples from each group of players but Martin Devaney was signed from the division above, Howard from the same division and Leese from Bayer Leverkusen.
Howard signed from S****horpe in the league below I think. Devaney straight from Cheltenham via Watford without playing a game. lees never played a professional game for any club otter than BFC. It proves you can't judge a player from where they come from but should judge on their own merits. It's blinkered thinking like yours that has led to over reliance on loan payers from big clubs. That to a man fail. We have signed loads of premiership players in the last 8 years what percentage of success have we had I'm going for less than 20 percent myself. It's time for change. Would you agree the policy of signing players from bigger clubs over the last 8 years has been a total failure? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Swindon. Conan your a bloody stuck record the way you keep meaning over and over its getting tedious. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Howard was signed from Swindon. We've signed more players from lower divisions, particularly over the last three years, and where has that got us?
