I thought he'd be back up to Scotland. Best of luck Jim, apart from when you play us.

Excellent signing for them. Will be a good player now he's finally at the correct level. Dissapoiting we couldn't compete with Coventry on wages.

What with all the goals he scores and creates will be a great loss for us and great gain for them...

Strange move, both for Jim and for Coventry. Coventry have no stadium and are strapped for cash with further issues hanging over them regarding debts owed over the Ricoh fiasco. Jim should be worth a Championship team at least. The buzz is that Callum Wilson is on his way either to Bournemouth, or Norwich, so that might make the Sky Blues a little more buoyant financially. He could do better than that, but maybe he just likes Pressley as manager.

Bit worrying a club in termoil on 2,000 'home' crowds seem a more attractive club to be at for him.

Good luck, Jim, except when we play Coventry. As a club we move on.

Why don't people understand that it's not about that?

Jim would have signed for us had we offered him what he wanted. We didn't because we weren't prepared to pay that, we didn't think he was worth any more than we offered. Jim thought we would negotiate after the initial contract offer, but we wouldn't. We offered a contract and he could take it or leave it.

We don't offer all players the maximum we can afford. We don't blow all our money on one contract. We don't use up the entire budget on keeping a player at the club who is OK, but no world beater. We pay players what they're worth, not the most we can stretch to, and if the players don't accept that then we move on to someone else.

What you can afford and what you are prepared to pay are two entirely separate concepts.

We don't know that that is true at all though. The club may have been willing to pay as much as we could afford, Jim was certainly popular with Danny last season playing him anywhere on the pitch to have him involved. Also we don't know that O'Brien wanted more money do we? There is a possibility that he was sick of being criticised and abused by fans and that he just wanted out of the club because of this and not money. He deleted his twitter account because he was fed up the abuse and negativity towards him on there by fans a few months ago

Hope he does well. He's the one player that we've released whose contract I would have negotiated.
