Sure he is in a very good position at barnsley. On roughly 6k a week he Will be one of the highest paid players.. So sure he would be happy to stay unless someone matches or offers him more money.

Opinion on him seems to vary, but alongside an old-fashioned style centre-half, he could easily play in a top half Championship side, in my opinion. If that kind of interest comes he'd be pretty daft to turn it down, considering it'll probably involve a decent pay package.

I think he could be a quality centre half for a Championship team, and I'm not surprised there's interest.

Not sure if they'll all stay, but a back to front four of Steele, Crainie, Jennings and Cogba is a really solid platform to build a team from. All four of those players are Championship quality, but also ideal for taking League One by the scruff of the neck too.

He's bottom of the Championship standard, as his last three seasons suggest, so take your pick.

I'd go for top of league 1 myself so he might as well stay with us.

Quality player, will shine in a better team. Wouldn't be surprised if any of the promoted teams were after him.

Under contract and worth in excess of £650k in my opinion

If he stays he forms the back bone, if he goes then a decent wage off the bill and money coming in

    £650k!!!?? Ha ha.

We'd be lucky to get £50k for Cranie. In fact, I'd suggest we'd let him go for nothing just to get him off the wage bill.

He's a decent centre half who can cope in the Championship - but two relegations and a near miss in his last three seasons will undoubtedly put clubs off.

I doubt any manager in the country would share your opinion.

Your obviously fookin deluded if you think he's worth 50k

In fact a few of you are grade A planks with your assessment of Crainie. He's easily a 650 / 750 centre back, easy.

He's age, he's youth England history. Don't be fooled by relegations, that counts for precisely fuk all.

You're even dafter than I gave you credit for.

£750,000. Easy. Wow. I'm actually in shock.

He's not quality. I've seen him for two years remember? But yes, relegation haunted clubs would be my guess, it's about his level. That's not a criticism, just facts.

But 650k? We were ready to flog our key asset for less than that in COGba. I reckon as Matthew suggested, if we can get him off the wage bill I think we'd probably take a nominal fee. But, I've no idea in all honesty, and I'm glad about that.

I think he's overrated though. I'd be very 'meh' again should he stay/go. I know others love him though.

I like Cranie but care for a small wager say 1 English pounds that if we do flog him it's for less than 650k. #MoneyWhereYourMouthIs ?

If COGba is worth £500k (Personally think we should hold out for more) then there's no way centre half Cranie is worth more!

I like Cranie. I hope he stays. But for all his calmness and footballing ability, he goes missing in key games and doesn't appear to have the fight of say Stephen Foster, who wasn't as glamorous as Cranie but was always solid. And we never got relegated when he was here.

If Cranie is as good as you suggest, why didn't a top club come in for him last summer when he was available on a free transfer? Or the summer before that when he was again available but signed for us after the season had started and Leeds had rejected him?

But he's just one man as part of a team. It's not entirely his fault he's been involved in relegations.
