    As I'm currently reintroducing my lad to Yorkshire we'll be putting in an appearance. Tour de France at west tanfield, a week in whitby then over to barnsley for a long weekend with my mum and dad. Halifax will be the icing on the cake. Fortunately he doesn't know the number for childline!

    I wouldn't catch a train from Huddersfield to Halifax. It's not a good service. You're better walking from Huddersfield Rail Station to the Bus Station and then catching a 503 which runs very frequently, every 10 minutes, and takes about 30 minutes and will drop you off right outside the Shay.

    I agree with you. Could even get a taxi car/van depending on numbers as that wouldn't be too much from centre of Huddersfield to Shea. Not off the robbing bar stewards in the Kirklees Council taxis outside the train station though. I'd go to the well hidden little known taxi place (forget name of it) about 30 seconds walk out of the station doors and slightly forward to the right where the big buildings are down there on the left where you have to go down some stairs to go inside. A mate once got a 6 am taxi from there to Manchester Airport for about 30 so to Halifax it probably wouldn't be more than 15.

    Not for me, over time at work getting money together for next season, yesterday I booked train for Rochdale from Leeds to Rochdale it was £12.50p for a any time day return so it'll not be a dear do on train Saturday but still can't justify going to a training game
