Re: no need matey Selling to SUFC is something that I can't contemplate, not only because they are a truly despicable scum club but they are our main rivals and we should not be doing a damned thing to help them get promoted.
Re: no need matey If he joins them, then he's a lying basterd. And he'll rightly become the new Bogdanovic and receive a torrent of abuse when we beat them, twice. I actually want it to happen now. Just for the shitstorm on here.
Re: no need matey Happy for us to sell O'Grady or Cranie so long as the buyers have to take Kennedy as well. That would make it a win-win.
Realistically this is a nothing story as they were always individually going to be for sale at the right price. I'm sure however we don't need to sell all three.
I think that this is the only way to move Kennedy on TBH is by adding COG and Cranie in on the deal for nowt and we pay all their wages......AND give them Our much coveted and prized 'Blackies' egg too
Re: I think that this is the only way to move Kennedy on TBH Wouldn't be too disappointed to see both Cranie and COG go, would be disappointed to see Kennedy NOT go! I'd love them to stay but realistically what did we expect? Our better players were always wanting to want out after being relegated last season, and both Cranie and COG are better than League 1. Just a side note, if COG signs for Sheffield United then i will be bitterly disappointed, in him and the club, it would be an embarrassment quite frankly, but then again would it surprise us?
He's in a tricky position. He's said he doesn't want to leave the area as his family are settled in the area but if the club push him towards the exit door & Sheff Utd's the only local team offering him a contract then he might have to go there. Obviously I hope he doesn't go there but if that's the only option & we can use the money on a few quality league one players then it might be the best move
Mansford not lied, He never said we wouldn't sell to UNITED, he said if they want him there will be a premium for them to pay due to being our neighbors and Rivals. They would have to pay more than a championship club. So couldn't see it happening. If im wrong please post a link were mansford said "We will not sell O'Grady to Sheff United"
I think Jay is spot on as per usual. We always talked of the 'Four' once our relegation was confirmed, there is only two mentioned. You've only got to listen to Ben's last audioboo to know that we are talking to and targeting **** loads of players. I firmly believe we will have at least 5 maybe 6 in by Crawley. Maybe we are falling a tad short on wage offers and need to move a few on to free up more money, seems plausible. Obviously like many have said, I just hope COG doesn't go to Blades, hopefully his Owls fondness and time here will deter him. If he does go it's pure money and nothing else. There is nothing in Sheff Utds signings to suggest they will be anywhere near promotion. In Ben, Danny and BFC I trust. Will still be massively excited to see Jenno, Hemmo and Hourihane-o smash up this league Yooooooooooo reds
I can't see anyone matching Cranie's wages either. They could have done so (without a transfer fee) last summer. It's even possible to make the same argument in regards COG - if you assume he rejected Charlton purely on a financial basis.
If we are as skint as all this makes it seem, then non-playing staff on huge six figure salaries should be the first out of the door, surely.
We aren't skint as such, we just don't turnover enough to cover the existing contracts and then to bring more players in to avoid only having bairns. Let's face it, the turnover issue has been around for ages and it's a shame nowts been done to try and improve the situation until after relegation.
Also we're playing with different rules redstar. Before out % of turnover on wages was 80/90% and we aren't allowed over 60%.
