So after all those years of nurturing you suss him out straight away. Ever thought of having a career in professional football?
Not difficult to see if someone has a terrible game. Have you ever called a player for playing badly? Because if you say you haven't you're talking out your arse.
Everyone has mate, but I think the point people are making is that having a bit of a rant about experienced professionals, who get paid wages we can only dream about, is all part of football. It's a bit different with young kids, particularly when they're playing one of their first ever games for the first team. I'm not having a go, what you've said is hardly crime of the century, but I think it's taken as read that we give the young lads a bit of slack when they first start. It's difficult moving up from youth football and a few bad games does not mean we've got a bad player. I remember when Joe Joyce first made the team. He was bloody awful. But he turned out to be a very steady right back, someone to be proud of. Don't know if Brad Abbot will make it in the pro game, I've never seen him play, don't know his position and wouldn't recognise him if he was stood in front of me. But I think he'll have a much better chance if we support him rather than knock his confidence. Good players moving up from the academy is what we all want to see. Not telling you what to do, just, well, you know.
I get what people are saying lads and it's probably being read as a nasty slur at the lad and that's not what I intended. I suppose certain members on here have put these players in a window and a few, including myself were waiting with a gun and bullet and ready to shoot. I hope all the young lads make it and prove me wrong, it's every fans dream isn't it fkr a team full of local lads who care for the club? However I take into consideration his age and experience and it probably was slightly OTT as there were no real stand out players today. I didn't want people thinking I'd wrote him off, he was just very frustrating today. Friendly or FA cup final, it's never nice losing in such manner.
You can say he had a poor game, just no need to be calling him a "clown". Do you have kids of your own? If so imagine saying the same to your own son. Sound harsh?
all our young ones who played yesterday will need time to develop and progress , we are going to need some experience in team too if our plan is to go with the young ones .
