    Townsend sometimes irks me with his phrases 'That's a great ball, it really is', 'Messi is a wonderful player, he really is', ' Germany have played well this tournament, they really have' phrases. But apart from that, I don't mind him.

    But Mark Lawrenson is a first class cocky, know-it-all, his way or no way type.
    He really is.

    There's always the French commentary which has the advantage that it's very easy to blank out.

    I've had a bit of a punt on Germany winning in extra time which was a long shot but which is now beginning to get interesting . . .
