Germany didn't get there by accident. Someone needs to get their ****ing finger out. Sick and tired of seeing someone else win the ****ing world cup. Well done Germany - they laid the foundation, built on it steadily, and they really are the best in the world.
Gregg Dyke's got his finger out. He's come up with a cracking idea to have young English players playing in the conference.
What was most impressive was that Germany don't have a Ronaldo or a Messi. They play football the way it was devised, as a team game. There's no reason England can't play the same way. I've seen world cups won in the past by the brilliance of individuals, Maradonna in 1986 being the prime example, but that can't happen any more due to way the best teams have developed world class defensive midfield players. You need more than just one superstar, you need your whole team playing together. That's how France dominated, then Spain and now Germany. All had fantastic midfield players who can sit and pass the ball, and all worked as a team. We still hope to rely on Rooney producing some magic and when he doesn't we blame him. That tactic will never work. Even Messi and Ronaldo struggle to shine at this level. We need to develop a team.
Yes but their B teams play in the second tiers. I'm completely against the idea regardless but playing on the conference - how is that going to help?
Ever increasing? I'd love you to show me the facts to back this up. German fans are no angels, just like the English, Spanish, Dutch fans. Keep going though. I gave you 2/3 opportunities to attend a German match with me, surprisingly you never took me up on the offer.
Crowd trouble isn't a problem in England LDred. i$ couldn't find a article about it but there was anumber of reports about it last season when Arsenal were over there going up since this report. https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news...ball-sees-crowd-trouble-hit-12-124712846.html
I've seen more trouble in England than I have Germany, where I've seen 0% bother. Every country has its minority of idiots who want to cause trouble, but is this really your best argument against Germany being the best team in the world despite winning the World Cup after beating both Brazil and Argentina? You have my attention for another 10 minutes before I'm off to bed, I've got work tomorrow mate.
Me neither mate, but there's no reason we can't do it. If we had the will. Germany's players aren't vastly superior to ours, but their team is light years ahead. As were most teams at the competition, to a lesser extent. We haven't got the best players in the world, but they're far from the worst, they're OK, better than what is available to a lot of countries, yet our whole is less than the sum of its parts. For most other countries the opposite is true. There's something wrong with our coaching and our tactics. That's what needs addressing, not the endless pursuit of better players. Even when we have good players we waste them in unsuitable systems playing our of date tactics. We run with the ball. The rest of the world pass it.
Could have something to do with the fact they actually play German players in the Bundesliga http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24467371
We do try to pass it but its so slow and laborious and usually ends up with a central defender playing a long, hopeful diagonal cross field ball, there is very little movement off the ball from the strikers, defensively we seem to play players who aren`t that comfortable with the ball at their feet. It can be done but patience must be shown and a squad assembled and stuck with, playing friendlies against the worlds best not just any old country for the revenue it brings. Like you said France set out to do it and achieved and this German squad have grown together and know each other inside out. It can be done.
Phil what has this got to do with Germany being the best team / league in the world? We really could and should learn a lot from them.
Thats very much to do with the setup over in Germany and LDred's comment at i've never seen anything so it can't happen is idiotic. It does happen. I'm 99% certain it was Arsenal fans last season got a warming about it before traveling across to Germany.
I get what you're saying about hooligans, although as we live in a glass house I certainly won't throw any stones, but this post is about the success that Germany have achieved and what we could learn from them.
