Anyone notice the similarities between Messi and Paddy McCourt?

Spent most of the match wandering around, not looking bothered, blank expression on his face, not really trying for the team, very occasional touch of skill.
And there the comparison ends.
We'd be no good with Messi in our team. He'd get some reyt hammer off the bbs.

 

I nearly fell off my sofa laughing when he was given player of the tournament.

Absolute joke.

 

He'd be ten yards from their player just not closing down letting them progress twenty odd yards. Skillful but shockingly lazy. Only player not sweating

 

he always as a blank expression on his face. He might smile at the opponents when he gets brought down but in the main he stays very calm on the outside anyway.

Hes played in massive situations for Barca and you can't expect him to change because you think he should look like x, y or z. When he plays every time hes got pressure on him and you cant start showing it like say luiz was was you'll be an emotional wreck after 10 minutes.

Whatever the reason he just doesnt perform for Argentina and until he does he will always be in the shadow of Maradona IMO.

 

He's an odd one Messi, he doesn't even look like a footballer, more like an accountant or someone who works in I.T.

 

He scored 41 goals last season. McCourt could have wandered around the pitch doing nothing for us all he wanted if he wa able to score even say a quarter of that.

 

He has in the past few years though. He was apparently brilliant in qualifying & he built up a great partnership with Aguero but we've not really seen much of that as Aguero's been injured

 

Not in major tournaments though, that’s my point and to be regarded as an all time great that is what you have to do.
