Bit of a "I won't buy adidas" thread going on re: Man Ure deal ... so here's my tupenny ... Not sure how well know this is ....New Balance have a factory in Cumbria, here is the link http://www.newbalance.co.uk/men/collections/uk-collection/162000,en_GB,sc.html
Don't care about the Man Utd connection with Adidas, but I'm all for buying goods made in the UK. I'd be very tempted to buy their stuff if they manufactured everything they sold in the UK in UK factories. Does seem a bit of a gimmick when they list 150 different mens' footwear items, but only 3 are manufactured in the UK.
I got some Adidas for my birthday and they've crippled me So I'm looking at one of these Swaying towards grey NB going meadowhall Friday to have a look
That's my justification for my love of Old Speckled hen, and the missus sups this cheap and chearful British Wine
I only do Adidas and a camper for trainers and Clark's for shoes it's the mod thing. Sent from my iPad using Tapata
Stop buying tat made in sweat shops and support British companies. http://www.crockettandjones.com/collections/fr
I like the purity of your approach. I go for Adidas for everyday wear, Cruyff for best, and Camper for poncing around like a European (holidays etc). Vans & New Balance are decent too from past experience.
Norman Walsh. They look **** IMHO but they're UK designed, made & sold. http://www.normanwalshuk.com/
I've been to the factory shop in Cumbria and I'd say most of what they had on offer was made abroad. Quite a bit of stuff from their onsite factory but that wasn't cheap. Perhaps we were outside the period when they try to get rid of the old stuff before the new season begins, it was in October last year.
These are very sturdy, hand made in Yorkshire and according to customer feedback "are surprised by the superior comfort" .... would you wear them?
I had a pair of New Balance trainers and I was always picking up injuries. I switched to Nike and had years of trouble free running. I now wear Asics which are the best IMHO. I am think I'm on my 5th pair.
They get sold for over £100 a pair. Very popular with the 'Casual' man. The thinking man's Adidas, apparently.
